“A truly perfect B&B”
Reviewed February 2, 2012

My sister and I stayed at Magnolia before Christmas on the recommendation of friends. We were not disappointed! It's in a lovely location at the top of town with beautifully presented rooms which are immaculate - the attention to detail here really does deserve the reviews it gets. Fabulous fresh breakfasts (thank you for the museli recipe!) the best night's sleep in months and wonderful hospitality. Geoff and Elizabeth made us so welcome and were so helpful with suggestions for walks, places to visit or somewhere to eat. The pubs in this little town are great (though you should book if you want to eat) and everything is within easy walking distance. A "Five Star" experience all round and we'll be back when the weather improves to try out those new walks we heard about!!

My wife and I recently enjoyed a 3 night stay at this outstanding guest house, the best UK B&B that we have ever stayed at in terms of the welcome, comfort, cleanliness, breakfast, overall quality, service, and extras provided.
The Magnolia is quietly situated, but only a short walk from the centre of Bishops Castle. For real ale fans this unique town of 2000 people boasts two breweries. We can particularly recommend the Three Tuns for its ales, atmosphere and food.
The surrounding scenery and walking are wonderful.
We would go back tomorrow if we had the chance.

We (my hubby & I) just had the one night here as a mid week break treat for us! We did some good walks & ate at the excellent Three Tuns pub, does help that we are fans of real ale and really enjoyed the meal too!
As for Magnolia B&B, this place is magic & it felt like we were in a 5* hotel not a town B&B!! Very good location for walking in to the town & for being near to excellent walks!! Breakfast was lovely & just the right size, very good quailty & amazing sausages!
We had arranged a packed lunch with Elizabeth and that was very good too. We would & will certainly recommend Magnolia to anyone!

This was a part of the country that we had never been to before and we were guests at a wedding at Walcott Hall in North Lydford. We were looking for a B and B for two nights and saw Magnolia on the internet. How lucky we were to find such a lovely establishment on the outskirts of Bishops Castle.Elizabeth and Geoff were fantastic hosts and could'nt have made us more welcome. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was brilliant. We hope to return to Magnolia sometime in the near future and would recommend the experience to anyone.

A very well appointed guest house on the edge of Bishops Castle.Close enough to the town centre (5 mins) yet sited in quiet surroundings. Our room (The Wintles wa delightful. A huge bed, fantastic en suite and very clean and well decorated. A very wide choice for breakfast - many home made and locally sourced products. Our hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home. If your looking for a great place to stay in a beautiful part of Shropshire you'd have to go a long way tofind somewhere this good. It really is something special.

We found our hosts to be warm and welcoming, they did their utmost to make us feel comfortable and to get the most from our break. The room was well appointed, spotlessly clean, and spacious. Breakfast at Magnolia consists of the finest ingredients, beautifully cooked, and served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Magnolia is situated on the outskirts of Bishops Castle, but is within a few minutes walk of probably the two best eateries, The Castle Hotel and The Three Tuns. We felt completely at home, and our hosts felt more like friends. We have already booked a return visit.

Room Tip: Didn't visit other rooms, but would imagine all were of similiar quality

Nick and I stayed at Magnolia fior 3 nights whilst we were walking and exploring the local countryside. We had a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable break, this being due to the wonderful countryside, the friendliness of our hosts Geoff and Elizabeth, and beng able to stay in their wonderfully clean, beautifully decorated home. Breakfast was a real treat and set us up for the day and we also enjoyed meeting and chatting with fellow guests Brian and Helen. Eizabeth's and Geoff's knowledge of the local area and walks was also a great plus for us. Would love to go and stay there again and would recommend Magnolia t anyone wishing t stay in the area. Thanks Geoff and Elizabeth.
