“Lovely Pool - Excellent Location”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

We stayed here two weeks ago and loved it. We like our posh hotels but feel they are out of place on a Greek Island so the Efrosini Village really appealed to us. We were not disappointed. We had a clean, basic room and (by Greek standards) a nice bathroom! We really liked the balcony which overlooked mountains and orange/lemon trees - we loved the peace and quiet. Air conditioning was 5 euros a night and was well worth it! We really appreciated having an in-room safe and have no complaints at all. One minor thing we would have added was a toaster but we got by fine without one!! The only reason we mention this is because we were awfully close to the most wonderful bakers!! Mind you, they produced some very tasty mini croissants which we couldn't get enough of! If you cannot get by without a hair dryer I would recommend you take your own as the one in our bathroom was fixed to wall and reminded me of a hoover attachment! It got very hot to hold at times and in the end I gave up because it was so hot whilst we were there I couldn't bear any more heat on me and was happy to let it dry naturally! We had toasted sandwiches at the pool bar a few times and they were so cheap and so tasty! The fresh orange juice went down a treat as well!! We found the staff really friendly and loved the way the rooms are in small blocks and are really spread out - the whole place was well thought out. We saw a lot of other properties whilst we were there (including the Magnolia Hotel and the Utopia Hotel & Spa) and still prefered our pool to all of them! You just had the most wonderful view whilst you were swimming of the mountains. We spent a lot of time in and around the pool! A delightful place to stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 17 and loved the view from the balcony of the mountains and fruit trees. Balconly...

This was our second visit to Katelios and it really hadn't changed much at all, which was fine by us.This time we stayed for two weeks at Efrosini Village (we stayed just down the road 8 years ago) because it had such good reviews on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed. We asked for an upstairs room and it was spacious, quite modern, clean and had a lovely bathroom and shower, better than any Greek studio we had stayed in before.
The pool was lovely and clean though we didn't spend many days there as we prefer the beach. We had a lovely lunch when we did stay around the pool, Fortis' chips were the best I had during the whole holiday.
The food in all the tavernas down at the waterfront (only a 10 minute pleasant walk)was excellent and we can recommend Nemesis bar which is very attractive with a lovely atmosphere.Denise, the owner, is a lively friendly character who let us use the internet there, free of charge (we bought a drink each on each occasion of course).
Katelios is a lovely, quiet, laid back fishing village and although the beach is not brilliant we always walked over the headland to "Turtle beach" , a 45 minute up and down walk with lovely views along the way.The sand there is fine and clean, the sea bed gently sloping, there's a loo and a nice little cafe, it is well worth the walk or a taxi would not cost a lot.
Great holiday if looking for relaxation and lovely surroundings.

Looking for a week of peace and relaxation I spent it at the Efrosini Village. Lovely large, well kept accommodation with the smartest bathroom I have ever found in Greece, friendly staff and a superb location. If you are looking for excitement and nightlife this is not the place to be but if you enjoy quiet evenings enjoying a good meal and excellent local wines looking out to sea from a friendly taverna then Katelios is for you. Efrosini Village is a ten minute stroll from the small selection of good tavernas and the beach but also offers it's own pool, sunbeds and bar offering a good range of drinks and food at very reasonable prices. I thoroughly recommend it for a taste of Greece and some rest and relaxation.

I have stayed at efrosini twice previously so this was my third time and have booked for a fourth, returning in July....
Katelios is a beautiful quiet resort with plenty of choice re tavernas, there are also a couple of cocktail bars.
Efrosini village can just about be seen from the main road and looks like an oasis in the distance! The rooms are clean, good sized, v modern in decor, and still keeps that basic greek charm that I love. There is AC which is extra charge. The swimming pool area is never busy ( in my past experience) and the pool bar has everything you need for a days sun bathing. The staff, mainly Fortis and the owner are so friendly and helpful, they really do care. If you wanted a minimarket there is one a couple of mins away and it sells more or less anything you need ( within reason!).
If you have never been before, and you like greek self catering- GO!!!
Across the road is a greek taverna called Persa's- go there too.
I can wait to return to Efrosini village.

The pool is wonderful; but the food is GREAT - Try Fotis Omelette, or his Egg and Chips his salads are amazing - he will serve you whatever you desire. I understand from lots of our friends that his breakfasts are absolutley fantastic - WOW and the food is so inexpensive. Many people return here year after year. So friendly. so clean - what more could you want from a holiday.

Room Tip: They are all good

If its traditionally Greek you are looking for but with a real bathroom then this is the place to be!
Great location, only 10mins walk to the sea front with plenty of choice of Tavernas serving great food and plenty of freshly caught fish (I recommend the lighthouse and Katelios Tavernas). The Efrosini had it all for us, the staff were fab, Fortiss and Mila run the show and nothing is too much trouble... Pool - great, never a problem to get a sunbed, nobody throwing towels on chairs at dawn, just get up, have breakfast and pick you spot at leisure. I was a little concerned going to a small hotel as used to big resorts with loads of facilities but my fears were quickly laid to rest... we all had a wonderful time... well done Efrosini we will return!!

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor which was great with a terrace but if I went again I would probably ask...
