Because this is my third time here I guess you could say I like it! You wouldn't be wrong. The villa is charming ,cosy and has everything you need . I would say that the spiral staircase can be tricky to negotiate if you have children or elderly relations, but if that's the case the outside step is a good alternative especially with cases etc.
The pool is lovely on the hot sunny days and the bbq is good for cooking everyday The garden is both lovely at day and pretty at night with the lights. Martin is a very attentive host nothing is to much trouble. You will need a car as it is quite away from the coves and shops and main town ,Martin recommended a good car hire place [corsa £190 for the week all in ] If you are looking for a genuine slice of spain this little house says it all.

“A gem at the Costa Blanca”

We've stayed here with our family twice now during August.

We arrived at Valencia airport picked up rental car and drove down to Moraira. Driving instructions were easy to follow and as soon as we arrived at the house, kids were in the swimming pool which left us some quiet time to get installed. So much attention to detail has gone into everything. If you think you forgot something at home, it is probably already provided for in the house. When you enter the house for the first time you notice that so much care has been taken to make you feel welcome and at home.

Views from the house are really nice and during really hot days you can leave the windows open so it cools down enough towards the evening - night.

The Moraira area is just wonderful, with little bays, restaurants, bars, ... Since you need a car here there is plenty to visit when you are willing to drive a little at the coast and land inwards.

We've have had one of our best holidays here, and will certainly be going back in the future!!

“Comfortable and well located”
Reviewed July 5, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed here for a week in late June for a week, when it was hot (90s) every day. There's no air-con at Hanging Gardens, which doesn't matter most of the time because you can get a breeze running though the villa during the day. That breeze drops off at night, though, and that's when the mozzies put in an appearance! Luckily there are nets above the beds, which you'll need to use during the summer months - make sure you pack your sprays.

The villa will sleep six, but there's really only room (and seating) around the pool and in the downstairs living room for four people. It's a comfortable house and well equipped, with a nice view across the valley and glimpses of the sea. Be aware that the spiral staircase may be a little difficult to negotiate if you have mobility problems - it's pretty narrow. Also, there are several keys for the doors/security gates, which make locking up a faff every time you head out.

Parking wasn't a problem, and Martin's driving instructions from Moraira were fine. However, we had a few problems getting from the airport to the toll motorway, although that's probably due to my driving/the confusing road signs and road numbers!

We hired from Sixt at Alicante airport - got a good deal that included Super CDW. Make sure you don't end up paying for a tank of fuel when you hire; we started off with a full tank of fuel and had to bring it back with a full tank, so there were no additional charges, but many other companies at Alicante will force you to pay for a full tank, regardless of how much you use.

Hanging Gardens is well located, but you'll need your car to visit Moraira and even the nearby supermarkets; we preferred Masymas, which is on your right as you head towards Moraira - it's reasonably new and well stocked. As for eating out, try Rondo, which is a five-minute drive from the villa. Really good, well priced food. You may need to book!

Rob, We really appreciate you taking the time to review our house. We are aware that it does take time and effort nowadays with everyone asking for reviews. Amazon, Hotels etc etc. Thank you so much. It helps us to keep on top of things, keep everything to our guests satisfaction and sometimes have things pointed out that we may miss. Also great reviews mean guests are happy and this helps us to feel proud and that all the hard work has paid off. Have a great rest of the year. Thanks again for your review and choosing to stay with us.

“Home from Home”
Reviewed June 7, 2012 for a stay in June 2012

My Fiancée and I have just returned from a lovely week at the Hanging Gardens. I don’t normally write reviews however, I thought I’d make an exception for this exceptional Spanish home.
If you’re looking for a traditional Spanish “home from home”, off the beaten track yet close enough to some fantastic restaurants, bars and general amenities in the picturesque town of Moraira then you’ve hit the jackpot.
We picked up a car at Alicante airport late in the evening and within an hour we were at the property. Martin, the owner, had provided us with a detailed info pack, which included superb directions – a big help.
The house has a great layout with a huge dining room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 double bedrooms and a living room with double French doors opening out on to the private pool (and hot-tub) which, with its rolling mountain and sea views is a perfect place to soak up the sun.
For us, the icing on the cake has to be the built-in BBQ, with the cherry on top being the large terrace/balcony from which you can sit and enjoy breakfast, lunch or even that BBQ food with the most amazing postcard picture backdrop.
The property has all the home comforts that that you’d expect as well as so much more i.e a hard drive stacked with movies and music, an iPod dock, board games, cupboards full of spices and condiments (which allowed us to stay in and cook on a couple of occasions), books, local area info literature, snorkeling gear etc etc etc…
Needless to say, we’ll be returning next year but this time with either friends or family in toe. A special thanks to Martin, who was the perfect “virtual host” from start to finish.

A wonderful retreat with beautiful views and amazing coves. The new coastal path to Calpe is a must. Wonderful fair priced restaurants in the town. A lovely relaxing holiday in a great house. very very peaceful... I would suggest a hire car is a real benefit for travelling to other areas especially if you have young children, there seemed to be ample free parking places in the towns.

Absolutely perfect, we were very sad to leave, Martin who rents the property is so friendly and only too pleased to help you with any inquiry. he even arranged our hire car which was waiting for outside airport, only an hour drive from Alicante and we were given very precise direction in advance with the property keys. The locale is very quiet, we never heard a sound at night and the view to the med is terrific and just a short 5 min drive down to the sea. The beauty of being elevated up from sea level made it very cool at night with soft breezes blowing in. We ate in mostly as we love to cook and the shops have such great ingredients , don't get me talking about the choice of wines, Rioja gran reserva's half the price of UK but when we did go out for lunch and dinner we found the choice of restaurants is incredible , Bona Taula (10 mins from Hanging Gardens ) being our favourite michellin starred restaurant (bit pricey but you only live once) serving the very best contemporary spanish gourmet dishes. The only problem we have with Hanging Gardens is its ALWAYS BOOKED UP when I get my only chance to take a break away (self employed) So Martin you've never let us down before so...if you could possibly arrange for me to have 2 weeks this coming August..1st 2 weeks please..sincerely barry taylor

Martin is a attentive host ,nothing is ever to much bother. If there is anything you need he will attempt to get it for you. The directions from the airport are so eay to understand ,especially with the photos. The house is very welcoming and doesnt want for anything .It is a little sanctuary where you can do as much or as little as you want .It has rustic charm We came for a chill out and came away suitably refreshed. You do need transport to get you to the small coves / bays and If you are looking for shops and bars and discos nearby you wont find them on the door step .This is house is for a relaxed holiday, pool, barbecue, sunbathe, a welcoming base for days out .I highly rate this little house if peace is what you are looking for.
