“dont want to go home”
Reviewed May 8, 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We stayed for 3 weeks and honestly these weeks went by far too quickly. The owners Lucy and John were on hand if required "nice folk" by the way. The most relaxing time I have had for a long time. Cottage has everything required and so very peaceful. If you like animals and the quite life this is for you. Already saving to go back . The perfect cottage.

“Peaceful and unforgettable location”
Reviewed January 18, 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Great place for a break away from it all, set in the pentlands with reservoir, fishing walking in hills readily in your doorstep. 10min drive to livingston centre. Wifi and sat tv.
Ideal for a weekend get away. Great for kids let them explore the countryside.
Lucy is a great host and is always on hand, she has chickens and pigs, you are most welcome to feed them
Easier access to livingston or kirkliston railway for access to edinburgh or glasgow

“A cosy, homely retreat”

I chose Drovers Cottage as a base from which to explore the area surrounding Edinburgh, as i am hoping to move there. The cottage delivered more than had i hoped for - it didn't take long for it to feel like home. It is a very cosy, comfortable place to get away from the city & take in the beautiful views of the Pentland Hills. It's location is perfect, it feels isolated and quiet, and yet only a 25 minute drive from Edinburgh (even in the snow!).
I could certainly imagine living here!

“adorable”
Reviewed August 10, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We went at Drovers Cottage on July 6th. We think that it is the right place to spend good time, far from the crowd, with plenty of sheep and cows around us. What a pleasure to be awaken with animals in front of our window, quietness, and the pleasure to have a compatriot living in the owner's place: a French Briard dog !

Scotland is a beautiful country to visit. So we had not enough time (just one week) to do all the things we've planned to do. Particularly, we didn't have enough time to enjoy Drovers Cottage, which is a very confortable place to live in.
The owners are very nice people and we would have been very pleased to know them better. Another time, we hope.

“Beautiful location, very roomy and comfortable cottage”
Reviewed August 6, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Drovers Cottage is beautifully located by the Harperrig reservoir and the Pentland Hills with excellent views. The cottage was well equipped with most everything we needed. It is spacious particularly the bedrooms which were also very comfortable. It was a real pleasure to have bed linen included especially towels - even in the kitchen (wish I'd noticed before I packed them!).The wifi worked very well too. Livingston was about 15 mins away with plenty of shops and ASDA. Also not far from the M8 for Edinburgh or Glasgow, On the whole the cottage had everything we needed and we all enjoyed a very pleasant week there.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Drover Cottage and found Lucy the owner extremely helpful as we were preparing for our son's wedding in the near proximity.
The eggs from Lucy's chickens were much appreceated.

Reviewed December 6, 2011 for a stay in December 2011

An idyllic cottage in a beautiful setting. We couldn't have asked for more for our weekend stay and can not wait to return. Drovers was well equipped and had a relaxed atmosphere throughout. Lucy went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect and the pigs meant we didn't waste any food.
