“Absolutely Awesome”
Reviewed May 21, 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We loved the cottage, Mandy was ready for our arrival with fresh scones and tea which was fantastic and a nice touch. The cottage was clean and spacious and comfortable for the three of us. The location is peaceful and beautiful, with only a short drive to Marazion. Mandy was super helpful on our arrival as she arranged for her husband to pickup some bread and milk for us so we didn't have to go out again. Pickle the dog was very friendly! This is a great place to stay. Thanks Mandy.

“Nice but far from anything.”

On arrival there were cream cakes for us ready with jam, cream and milk for tea in the fridge. A lovely touch after a very long trip. Another good thing about the Cottage is how well equipped, clean and tidy it was. There was plenty tea bags for us, some milk in the fridge for our first teas and nice big mugs and plenty cutlery and crockery. The property also had it's own enclosed off road parking, with it's own enclosed garden which was a rather good size. Free wifi with good signal was another blessing. Specially as mobile phone signal wasn't amazing. It was lovely peaceful and we had a friendly horse who came to say hi on a couple occasions. The owner, Mandy, was very friendly and popped over twice to ensure all was ok and that we were happy.

The Cottage itself was lovely but visiting with a dog who's not used to being apart from us it was difficult for us to have him stay downstairs by himself so my husband spent the week on the sofa. We didn't trust him on his own in a strange place and didn't want him wrecking the place while we slept. To be fair though, it did say so on the website, but somehow we missed that in all the excitement of booking a holiday. Another disappointing aspect of our visit was the shower... It was THE most disappointing shower ever in the world. But not much can be done with the electric showers. The shower flow could barely make it past the plug hole...at least it was hot... Another thing was the creaking stairs... With my husband sleeping downstairs, when he came up to use the loo, it woke me every time. And as we could hear the owners walking on their creaky floor we were even more conscious about our creaky stairs... Lastly was the actual location. Although the property was only a short drive away from all you could possibly need, from the Morrison's to the coast, to local bars and pubs, you couldn't really walk anywhere. The lanes were too narrow and overgrown with the locals speeding around to the point where the owner made her own sign to slow traffic as her daughter rides the horse in the lane by the Cottage.

Overall it was a good stay and we would recommend it, but unfortunately we most probably won't be returning to this Cottage to stay again.

Management Response

I'm not surprised that you were disappointed with the shower it had developed a fault, which I only discovered on cleaning the bathroom on your departure. It only took 5 mins to fix, if you'd only let us know the problem could have been solved straight away for you. Thank you for your positive comments.

We keep coming back because this cottage is just perfect. There is always a warm welcome and a delicious cream tea. The locaton is ideal - everything from shopping to beaches to the beautiful coastal path for fantastic walks is so close, yet it is so peaceful and quiet and seems so far away from the rest of the World - ideal for a relaxing holiday. The cottage is always spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable and tastefully furnished (love the color scheme and the light in the main bedroom!) and very well equpped. We wish we could come more often!

A lovely cosy, comfortable cottage with all home comforts. The lounge was very cosy with comfortable furniture , attractive decor, and French windows opening onto your private garden which is ideal and safe for children. The kitchen was well equipped with all essential items, likewise the bathroom with lovely towels, toilet rolls and general cleansing products. The bedrooms were very tastefully furnished with attractive linen, and pretty pictures and nicnacs. Altogether a wonderfull holiday in a fantastic location, we shall be returning!!
