Our family of six plus a dog approached The Goldolphin Arms in some trepidation for an unscheduled lunch. Our concern was this looked like a reasonably up-market hotel and restaurant and we were accompanied by our black labrador. We needed not to have worried.
We were quickly and warmly welcomed and shown downstairs into the restaurant. We had a magnificent view of St Michael's Mount and were quickly seated.
The restaurant was open to an outside terrace and overall light and airy. The decor was pleasant and the service good. There were too many dishes to describe in full but crab timbale, ham hock terrine, chicken, steak, squid, a fish plate and two 'catch of days' were gently enjoyed with everyone satisfied by their choice.
Our impression was that everyone was trying hard to make our lunch an enjoyable experience and for that all the staff should be thanked.
