“MIXED OPINION”
Reviewed March 5, 2013

Fun with my husband crossing the causeway waiting for the tide to go out. Got kidnapped by a tour guide after confusion about entry to the castle out of season! Make sure you enter by the cafe! If not you may be told off in front of other visitors (rather embarrassing). Their entrance sign to the castle was left in place which we followed to be told it is only relevant in high season! Good for photos. Make sure you check the tide times for walking across the causeway so you don't get stranded.

Apologies that your experience of St Michael's Mount was mixed on the day of your visit. During winter opening, we run guided tours at specific times to ensure that all our visitors can safely visit the castle and receive a first-class experience of St Michael's Mount.

On this particular day, it seems that you missed the start of the tour and were able to make your way up and into the castle unaccompanied. I do apologise if the guide seemingly reprimanded you in any way - they would have been following procedure in asking you to join the group with your safety and enjoyment being paramount.

If you do get another opportunity, please do come and visit us over our main Summer Season (we open 18 March) where we undertake a free-flow system, where visitors can visit the castle and gardens unaccompanied and at their own pace,

Location brilliant, isolation, gardens, walks - all fantastic. Another wonderful opportunity to enjoy a gem under the management of the National Trust.

“I go every year”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

This place is such a beautiful attraction. I have gone nearly every year just to bask in the surroundings. I am a national trust member which obviously means i dont have to pay to enter, but i would reccomend this to anyone even if they do have to pay. The views are breathtaking, the trip to the mount is fascinating (either via the hidden water walk way or by boat) and the house is full of charm and interesting rooms. Children can do a walk around quiz for free where they get a medal once completed.

“A place to visit”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

St MIchaels mount has an air of grace about it, when high tide, it is cut of from marazion, and only accessible by boat, at low tide one should walk across to see it, in the summer it is a buzz of activity.
