Walking across the causeway at low tide is delightful. The gardens are lovely and the shop is a little treasure.
Food and coffees are good, and the whole experience is a pleasure

when we go to cornwall we love to see the mount in the distance driving toward it, we have been there in all weathers, walking across the causeway is a nice expereance, quite a walk up to the monestry though, also nice to walk around the harbour, sit and watch the world go by, when the tide comes in then a nice boat ride back, we usually time it so we can walk though, we have been 1/2 way across when the tide has come in, but no one seems to panic and we got back save and sound

We liked the fact that we walked to the castle from the land and loved the building itself and the view from it

Went there during my very (too) short travel to Penzance, l.o.v.e it! Magnificent garden - geographically challenging and artistically beautiful - accompanying the pretty castle. But getting and going out of there are a unique experience on their own. Depending on the low/high tides, the options lie between walking and taking a boat... How often does one get to choose between the two?!

Make sure to visit the mount, beautiful location. Wait for low tide to walk out on the cobblestone path.
