We stayed in Marazion 2 weeks ago in self catering . Chose to dine in Bens kitchen after reading Trip advisor ..but checked it out on arrival before booking .good welcome and could book in advance ...We chose the first course of scallops, perfectly cooked not sure about the sauce /custard .. but doesn't mean others wouldn't like .....mains .. Hake served on puy lentils .. perfect fish .. shared the apple terrine, apple crisps and blackberry sorbet (heaven on a plate) the terrine was full on apple flavour . recommend it to all .. we also shared the cheese board together, good choice of local cheeses and homemade crispy biscuits together with a bottle of wine and a glass of red came to just under £100 good value, ..and Ben created something that I wouldn't normally do everyday ..a real treat .. thank you Ben and more to the point someone washed up.. all be it we could see who by the reflection in the fridge .. ... the cloakroom was spotless.. something that says a lot to me .. and a quick peak in the Kitchen to thank Ben confirmed to me hygiene was tops ... thank you Ben and your team for making our holiday a special treat.. one thing that really spoilt a really looked forward to romantic evening for a couple of oldys way past 65 but in our second youth ... was the young family who felt we all had to share their toddler crawling all around ..sorry to all you young ones with little ones but this really did have a bearing on our evening.. .

Great sourcing of ingredients, great imagination of the menu, great cooking. Well put together and well delivered. Liked the matching wine suggestions at affordable prices. Great value for anybody who enjoys top dining that most people can still afford. Hope the idea catches on.

Eight of us dined here last week.the menu was most varied and the quality of the food was very good.

The male diners were left a little hungry at the end of the evening .

We felt the price of dining was high in relation to the size of the portions.

We arrived around 7.30 and within another 15 minutes another 15 to 20 people arrived.

Service was slow; perhaps they should space out the arrivals

We come for our main holiday to this part of Cornwall every year and ever since we discovered Ben's we have made a point of having at least one meal if not two at the restaurant. We are non-drivers staying in Mousehole so we have to negoitate the buses but it has been worth it every time. We visited twice this year, once for dinner and once for lunch (fantastic value with 3 courses for £18) eating both times in the newly opened upstairs section of the restaurant. The food was superb coupled with good service. You do worry as somewhere becomes increasingly well known that standards might drop but there is a pride in producing good food for happy customers and we can't wait for next year.

We booked a table here on a recent stay in Marazion on the strength of all the trip advisor reviews & were not disappointed!
I'm vegetarian & so it was good to see creative veggie options for starter & main that were abit different to the usual spinach & ricotta! I had smoked halloumi with divinely cooked veg, my other half opted to treat himself to the Lobster which he felt was exceptionally well cooked & prepared.
We both had the curry desert : Amazing!!! A complete assault on the taste buds, I could have happily eaten another one straight away just to keep savouring the flavours!
Definitely worth treating yourself to eat here if you're in Marazion : book ahead as they were understandably busy all night. If this restaurant were in London it would be triple the price & booked for weeks in advance!
