“Great Hotel”
Reviewed May 4, 2011

What a great hotel, I have stayed before but have to say it is even better than before. The room was great it had a lot of nice touches, flat screen tv and an armchair to watch it in, tea making facilities with everything you could possibly need, comfortable beds and even a bath robe. The ensuite bathroom was a little small but ok nice towels soap, shower gel and shampoo all provided.
I had all my meals at the Cutty Sark Pub and restuarant belonging to the hotel, the food and service were excellent as were the staff.

A very nice hotel, for two nights we were the only guests, so very quiet yet all facilities were open, unlike some places that run on a less than skeleton staff in the off season.
Someone comments that the menu is the same every night, well it's quite an adequate menu, and anyway there are the Kings Arms, the Godolphin, and the Cornish Kitchen (very good), so we ate at different place every night, and then there is Penzance and St Ives..........

I am very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your stay in March last year.

Guests are able to leave the hotel at any time as the front door can be opened from the inside without a key and this can be left open as required.

After 11pm the front door is locked to prevent anyone who is not a guest entering the hotel while the reception is unattended, at this time guests can ring the doorbell to be let in or request a front door key if they are returning late and prefer not to disturb the person responsible for letting in guests.

I am very sorry this was not made clear to you and we have reviewed our welcome to ensure this misunderstanding does not occur again.

We have a wide selection of dishes prepared from local produce that is always available and a regularly changing specials menu. Unfortunately the time between your stay and your review is nearly a year and I have been unable to find out why the specials menu did not change.

We stayed at the Marazion Hotel after the positive reviews from trip advisor. We were not dissapointed,we had room 4 which had sea views and overlooked St Michael's Mount.
From themoment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by all of the staff and nothing was to much trouble. It was my partners birthday that weekend and on the morning of her birthday at breakfast she had a birthday card at our table for breakfast a very nice and thoughtful touch. This just shows the customer service we experienced at the Marazion. The breakfast was very good with a wide variety of cereal, fruit and of course the full english which was delightful and set us up for our expploration of the area. The Cutty Ssark bar was a great place to have a drink and socialise with evryone, if you like beer try the Doom Bar which is wonderful from the Sharps Brwery in Rock.

Thank you Steph for a lovely 3 days and we certainly recommend your hotel to anyone who likes a small, friendly and relaxing hotel.

What a lovely hotel and in an idyllic spot! We stayed in a family room with an amazing view of St Michael's Mount. The bunk beds are built into the wall and were a total hit with our older two and even with a travel cot set up as well the room still felt spacious. The breakfasts were great, beds very comfy and all the staff were super helpful and kind. Especially to our 3 small children and even after we lost our room key! The new cafe downstairs is lovely with delicious homemade cakes etc and fabulous hot chocolate - perfect after a blustery walk on the beach. Our dinner in the restaurant was delicious and very reasonably priced too, it was very busy with locals and tourists - always a good sign!
If you go with children I definitely recommend a trip to Porthcurno where the beach is perfection and there is a Telegraph museum and the Minnack Theatre.
