“Don't tell anyone!”
Reviewed January 23, 2016 for a stay in January 2016

We'll be back! Enough said.

Not for folks who want "stuff to do," fancy restaurants or shopping.
No ATM's. No banks. No grocery stores. No TV's and minimal internet.
If you're looking for a delightfully remote and peaceful place to simply BE ... this is it! HEAVEN on earth!
The beaches we visited were lovely. Remote. No amenities. Few people. Somewhat windy in January but tolerable water temperature. Whale sightings!

Liked best: The remoteness, solitude and simplicity of the environs.
Liked least: The washboard dirt roads you need to travel might be a disincentive to some.

Casa Cactus far exceeded our expectations. The pictures on the website are very accurate but until you are there do you realize what a beautiful spot this really is. Cheryl was helpful from the time we booked the Casa to the time we left for home. We rented the upstairs suite and if there is only two people this is where I would recommend staying. Our day would start with sunrise and coffee/tea on the upper deck, followed by breakfast cooked in the small but more than adequate outdoor kitchen. Cabo Pulmo offers great diving, hiking, mountain biking, beaches, fishing and bird watching. We spent most of our time either diving, hiking, swimming or just sitting on the amazing deck at Casa Cactus. Back to Cheryl, she greeted us upon arrival and made sure we were settled in. The next day she had to go to Cabo San Lucas and helped us out by picking up a few things we forgot to grab(bananas and bacon). We had a beautiful dinner with Cheryl and two other guests and her neighbor Kent one evening which was very nice. She would leave us little notes under a rock on our step confirming dinner reservations at Tito's or what time dinner was. No voice mail here, just good old hand written notes. Cabo Pulmo is completely solar powered but it really wasn't noticeable. You don't need a hair dryer or straighter here! We both had our headlights which was handy when we would walk down to the main road for supper. Because there is no light pollution here it gets really dark which means the star watching is amazing. Cheryl keeps her property very neat and tidy and invites you to help yourself to beach chairs, fins, masks etc. I could go on and on about this property but I think you get the idea. Casa Cactus is outstanding and if I could give it 6 out of 5 stars I would. The only thing i would add is that if you like disco's, shopping, bars, and crowded beaches don't come to Cabo Pulmo. If you like bird song in the morning, quaint little restaurants, wide open beaches, hiking and no all inclusive then Cabo Pulmo is for you.

What a great getaway and the best of hostesses. Casa Cactus truly gives a taste of local living and the hostess, Cheryl managed to anticipate our every need, it was like having a personal concierge. From the well-stocked kitchen, to the super comfortable beds, to the great views, it could not have been more perfect. Be sure to check for celestial events before your stay because the night sky viewing away from city lights was spectacular. I highly recommend renting the whole villa to fully appreciate this wonderful place and for the ultimate in peace and privacy. If you are looking to relax and de-stress, this is your place.., it doesn't get any better than casa cactus, and hostesses don't get any better than Cheryl.

Watch the sun rise over the Sea of Cortez and set over the mountains from the patio of this charming casita. Watch the beautiful birds feed as you enjoy morning coffee in the garden, the walk to the beach for snorkeling. I t doesn't get better. Owner, Cheryl, is a friendly, inviting hostess who adds her special charm to every stay. I have been here several times, also with hubby (when he can get away) for a wonderful, romantic stay. We are sure to return again and again. Thank you, Cheryl!

“A True Mexican Opal of a Stay”

Amazing stay for daughter and I. Melted the work stress away in hours and felt like had been on vacation many days already...compared to bustle of Cabo.

Cheryl great hostess with good recommendations and warm hospitality.

We rented the downstairs for 3 nights and found Casa Cactus stay to be totally detoxifying from stress of real world.

I slept on day bed on the outside porch and reminded me of bygone days with family. Watched the stars and moon at night from bed and woke to a myriad of birds greeting the new day on nearby cactuses. Could hear ocean in evening quiet.

We love nature! Highlight seeing a fox carrying off a snake dinner or a large falcon dining on another snake provided great moments watching nature.....including one rattle snake which surprised us on the road. Nightly we were amused and the hunting prowess of geckos on our walls and toads in the garden. Saw amazing array of lizards everyday.

Snorkeled three times and saw amazing large and abundant fish from beach and boat. Highlight finding two sea cumbersome feeding and large lazy southern ray.

Buy groceries before come but otherwise,Cheryl has everything else you might need or is available nearby.

Don't miss this gem!

“A Desert Paradise”
Reviewed April 26, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Cheryl has not forgotten any detail ! Cabo Pulmo may be off the grid but this if off the grid deluxe. We stayed in the upstairs of the home and the views were phenomenal and with the breeze, we did not need the fan.
The place is so artistic and lovely. We would have loved to stay an extra night but it was booked.
A truly inviting and comfortable oasis! Total relax!
