“Gold diggers & unprofessionals”

When it comes to diving you expect the staff to be proffesionals, this is not the case here!

It starts in the reception, they will tell you what you want to hear, that they will take you to the best sites in the park, but on the boat you'll find out that they changed the plans because the other shops went out earlier and took all the good spots.

The dive masters and guides are young and don't know the area so well so you dive on a sandy buttom for half of the time or in the worse case you end up without a guide becuse he have trouble to go derper then 3 meters becuse of an ear infection!!

When you talk with the manegment about it they make them selfs like they don't speak english...

And last but not least they sell the park T-shirts for more then twice comparing to all the other shops on the park!!

“A mixed bag”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

My girlfriend and I came here on vacation for her to get her certification. She had a top notch instructor and a great experience (I am an instructor myself and can vouch for the quality of the training there). Their rental gear was all in great shape (I'm a big Mares fan and that is what they had for both BCD's and Regs). The few dives we did with their two divemasters after her certification was the only downside. Although one of the DMs had been there a few months, neither one really knew the dive sites and led poor dives. It seems due to the sleepy nature of the town the young DM's probably come and go quite quickly. I highly recommend the shop, it is well run and has great gear and good instructors, but I would expect a little more from the DM's.

“We went the wrong time of year, but...”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

Went diving with Cabo Pulmo Dive Center in April. This is not the best season to do this, and we knew when we went, but we were there so gave it a go. Vis was truly awful, water quite cold, though when we did see things they were on a scale we have not seen elsewhere, other than maybe the Great Barrier Reef. Schools of fish were massive.

So no knock on anyone for conditions. We managed to not be involved with any day trippers from Cabo San Lucas, again we think due to conditions. What was disappointing was that we paid full prices, but got brand new, just-starting-the-season dive masters, and on one dive the DM could not find the wreck we were diving on. With cold and 2 feet vis, we bailed after about 15 minutes, just wasn't worth it.

So - main thing is to suss out as best you can who is taking you out, and do aim for the right season (this sounds like a duh, but it was pretty grim underwater.)

“Fish fish and more fish!”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Cabo pulmo dive shop was fantastic! All dive gear was new and up to date. Facility has a clean restroom. Nice roof top palapa restaurant. Diving was very cool. Tho visibility was low we saw large schools of fish! Lots of grouper and spiny puffer fish! I would recommend any dive to go do it! It is an easy 1. 1/2 hr drive from San Jose. I had a great time!

“Great diving”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

I did three diving trips over the course of a week with this shop. They seemed very competent and guided me on different locations around Cabo Pulmo. The reef was very healthy and the fish were plentiful. Diving underneath hundreds of jack fish was a highlight. This is a remote location but they are well equipped.

The only downside to this operation is that they get a lot of groups in from Cabo for the day. This seems to attract inexperienced divers. Please make sure to dial in your buoyancy control and watch your fins on the reef. We are the biggest threat to reef. Choose your days carefully here. If the North wind is blowing you might want to skip it.
