Myself, my partner and my parents stayed for a week in Vitors village and all together were pleased with our trip. Vitors Village is a very modern, clean and all together beautiful hotel with its gorgeous rooms, friendly staff and well maintained grounds. We were half board and were expecting just to get your typical buffet style restaurant but were pleasantly surprised at the fact that the restaurant offered a different menu each night in which you could choose from. The rooms were cleaned every day to an immaculate standard & so was the pool area. Bar & restaurant staff were always very friendly and willing to help. Reception staff however were NOT. Some seem to feel they are superior to there guests and are not interested in helping or assisting you. I would also just like to give a heads up to the fact that although reception ‘demand’ a swipe of a credit card (they do not accept debit cards) on arrival this is not the case and you can refuse to give your card details so do not feel you have to do this.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to couples of all ages looking for a nice relaxing break in what can only be described as a modern and well decorated hotel! This hotel is not so much for families as there is only the pool to keep young children entertained and it is definitely for young people or anyone looking for a commercialised holiday as the fishing village in which Vitors village is set is very quiet with a few restaurants, bars and shops. I would however happily return to Vitors village again for a quiet week away with my partner!

We arrived and were quickly and efficently shown to our spacious apartment.Having two very young kids 3 and 1 the less stress there is the better. We dined at the complex restaurant on the first night and although it has an upmarket look and feel, the waiters soon put us at ease producing colouring books and crayons to keep kids quietish. No complaints with the food either, in fact it was very good.We also ate at ferragood restaurant a couple of nights and again it was very good.As most parents will know dining out with young kids can be an ordeal,or is it just us,but in any restaurant we went to here the staff were really nice and nothing was too much of a problem.Local beer superboc goes down well but way more expensive in the hotel.Down in the square we were paying 2.50 for 2 pints but in the hotel it was closer to 5 euros for 2 bottles.Small little playground for kids near the square but not much else kids wise.Having previously stayed in alvor, although a few years back,i do like portugal as a holiday spot. The food is good, the people are friendly, the weather is nice.I think we have found our new place to come to in vitors village. We are coming here again first week in august so for us it ticks all the boxes. This is my first review on tripadvisor so i hope it might be of some help.

I stayed in this hotel for one week in early June with my wife and two kids (6 and 2), we booked this hotel based on the reccommendation from previous reviews on trip advisor. The hotel itself is very good, well laid out and very clean. the staff are very friendly and all have very good english. The hotel is located on a hill and can become windy on occasions. If you hire a car you will have no problem staying here, otherwise you have a 10 minute walk into Ferragudo town square. the list of restaurants on other reviews is good to follow, but remember it is limited. You do need to spend some time walking around and watch out for the restaurants on the quay as they weigh the fish and this can be expensive if you are hungry. One of the best restaurants is the Ferragood whcih can be found by going out of reception and heading across the road walking through the new apartment block and heading down the hill, this also will take you into the square.
The Lidl and other supermarkets are 15 min walk away, not too far and if you have a lot of this to carry you will need help, the receptionist will organise a taxi for you if you want. We popped into Praia da Rocha a couple of nights (kids may get bored other wise) this trip cost less that €10 e/w and should be on the things to do. Ferragouda is a lovely little town, narrow streets and a nice walk is to pass the restaurants on the quay and follow the alleyway behind the lifeboat house onto the beach, you will eventually find your way back up to the road again at the end of the beach which will allow you to follow the road up to the church, eventually the narrow street take you back to the square. The shop in the hotel has fresh mike and fresh rolls, enough to keep you going, typical local shop prices. the bar was quiet while we were there. The Purple restaurant is OK, perfect for the first night with a late arrival.
For buggies and small kids this is a bit far from shops and restaurants and of course the beach. For tips I would recommend the Zoomarine, a full day especially if it is dull.
Overall the hotel was very good, the accommodation is very modern, very clean and towels are changed every day with housekeeping daily. A safe will cost you €15 for the week. On the whole we enjoyed it; would we go back there again with the kids.........probably not, on our own definately!

The hotel is situated in the quiet fishing village of Ferragudo about 40mins from Faro airport (though the coach took at least 1hr 20mins with all the drop offs at other hotels on route!) We were really impressed with the hotel/apartments on arrival. We opted for a 1 bedroom apartment on a self catering basis as we have a 1 yr old and wanted the sitting area to relax in of an evening so that we didn't have to keep quiet. The apartment was very clean and modern, and the receptionist was quick and efficient in booking us in and showing us to our room. The complex is small with 5 different blocks with all the rooms, a restaurant "Purple" which does amazing Cataplana (a local fish stew with potatoes), the Skyline bar which has fantastic views over Ferragudo and Portimao, a snack bar, a mini market and 3 pools (the main one, a baby pool, an adult only pool with a separate jacuzzi)
The beach is a good 20 min walk away (uphill all the way) but it is worth the walk or only 4 euros in a taxi if you don't fancy the walk! The hotel also runs a free bus to the beach 3 times a day (10am ish, 2ish and 5ish) but it doesn't run on sundays or public hols!
There are 2 local supermarkets a lidl and an eleclere about 15 mins walk (flat this time) the better selection is at the eleclere!
We tried a few local restaurants, Toc Toc, Farragood and Porterade all were great. Toc Toc does fab kebabs.

Just back from Vitor's Village at Ferragudo ( although the amount of folk who said ''Where is that?'') don't know what they are missing. This resort village is only 2 years old, and has a nice peaceful quality to it. No music, nothing for children, no play area, a good 20 min walk to the beach area. If you are looking for a nice peaceful holiday, expecially with babies or little children , then this may be the place for you. Staff are great, nothing is too much bother.
On the day we arrived, the girl on Reception, takes everyone direct to their apartment, and shows how everything works. Towels and bed linen are of the highest quality and embroidered with the hotel logo. Rooms are spacious, and very well furnished. Kitchen has a 2 ring cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, and filter coffee machine. Quality table ware, glasses and cutlery for 6.
We went half board, but here is the downside ( always has to be one).
At Vitor's Village, you eat in 'Purple Restaurant' which is open to the public, has about 12 tables. It is not buffet style, and half Board customers have a different menu, although you can ask to see the A La Carte, and pay the difference.
Each night, there is a choice of soup or salad, fish or meat, and then perhaps a choice of 3 or 4 desserts. The food is freshly cooked to order, so dinner can take a while, and the waiters are very helpful and explain what everything is. However, if fish or meat is not to your liking, there is no vegetarian choice.
Most of the restaurants in the area, mostly serve fish too
Breakfast choice is orange juice, yogurt, fruit, bread rolls, and white bread for the toaster. There is a little hot plate, with eggs, bacon, beans or sausages, but usually 3 out of 4 items are available.
There are 2 supermarkets within a 15 minute walk, Eleclerc and Lidl, where food items are much cheaper than the little mini market on site.
There is a little bar on the first floor with lovely views acros the bay, but there was no music or entertainment when we were there. We walked to Portimao(about 25 mins ) and then to Praia De Rocha ( a further 40 mins) although you could get the local bus.
This holiday may not be to everyone's liking, but the surrounding area is very unspoiled and picturesque.
Ferragudo itself is like stepping back in time, a baker, butcher, newsagent, and 5 or 6 other little shops, but not much to spend your money on. There is also a little village square, with a few cafes, bars and restaurants. The streets are very narrow, and steep, and not ideal with buggies or those with walking difficulties.
I would advise you to go now, before this hidden gem goes public.
