“Cracking house but needs a good clean”
Reviewed May 7, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We had a lovely time over the Easter bank holiday weekend. The house couldn't be in a better location for the village and walks in the surrounding areas, which to be honest is why we chose it. Communication with Paul is brilliant and he replied to all my questions within a couple of hours.

The only thing that lets the house down is the cleanliness, even the long abandoned cobwebs had dust on them! Damp on the top floor, a couple of the bedrooms and the main bathroom could do with a well needed refurb.

A deep clean and some tlc, this could be a 5 star house.

“We had a great family week”
Reviewed March 11, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Our daughter booked this as a present for 9 of us and we went the last week in February and into March. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and visiting the area, lots to see and do. The weather was fairly cold and damp and although the house was warm the lounge was not. Throws were over the back of the chairs and we sat with those round us on a couple of nights. The stove did not give out much heat and the radiators in the lounge are tiny. Upstairs was lovely and warm, too warm in some of the bedrooms. However, we had 3 under 7s who wanted to play out in the garden when it was fine but we had to shift 7/8 piles of dog muck before we could let them out and we do not have a dog so we were not to blame. If people rent a place and take an animal surely they should clear up after it! Just a thing I get on my high horse about. Otherwise the house is well situated to do lots of things in the village, well kitted out with crockery etc but take slippers for the stone kitchen and dining room floors. If anyone does use the 5th bedroom under the eaves don't put tall people in it, we didn't need to use it but Hobbits would fit in nicely. Oh, and don't fall over the threshold from the family bathroom into the hall it hurts your toes as our little ones found out.

“Will be returning soon!”
Reviewed October 26, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

This house is AMAZING! Spotlessly clean and wonderfully equipped, the owners have somehow managed to create a warm, cosy, comfortable place to stay despite the sheer size of the house. Some of the rooms are MAHOOSIVE!

The kitchen has every gadget and gizmo you could want, which made cooking and eating in a real pleasure. The garden is overflowing with beautiful flowers (even at the end of September) and the whole are is breathtaking beautiful. Grassington is a lovely little village, complete with cobbled streets, coffee shops/tea houses and gift shops. The local pubs sell a great range of beers and ales and there is even an Indian takeaway nearby.

The whole family have agreed that we'd like to swop our annual 2 weeks in the sun for a return visit here next year. There is so much to see and do in the area that we didn't really scratch the surface.

Book this place - you won't be disappointed!

“August Family Get Together”
Reviewed August 11, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Son and girlfriend and daughter and son-in-law joined us at various times together with our 2 border collies....sufficient to state that we have booked to return in October. Great location, fantastic cottage with all the amenities we could ask for and, I realise this is a variable, fantastic English weather!

“Perfect weekend getaway”
Reviewed May 14, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

I stayed at Ellesmere cottage with my mum for 2 nights in April as we don't live too far away - it's ideal for a rural country getaway. but all the local ameneties are still right on your door step via a quirky passage way that goes behind the house.

We brought our dog, Bella - the garden is perfect for her and most of the cafes/pubs allow dirty shoes and pets, which is great as it's a walking/tourist village.

The bedrooms are all decorated and furnished to a high standard and I loved being able to investiagate all the rooms, right up to the top of the house!

For walking it's amazing - so many walks/cycle routes etc and the locals are very friendly.

Already planning to come back in November with my fiance and friends!
