“A great retreat for special occasions.”
Reviewed October 2, 2011

I agree with the previous reviews, but have a couple of additional points. I've been here a few times. With visiting in-laws from another ASEAN country (who loved it as they have nothing that compare), work-mates and their families (also from other Asian countries), and others. The grounds are a wonderful hide-away, located right on the river. Some hints:
1. The Chao Phraya Express Boat to Nonthaburi or Pak Kret (if you can meet the limited times of that service) is a great way to get out of Bangkok. You then take a taxi. Get the phone number of the restaurant, in case the taxi driver needs to phone for directions. You can then take a taxi back into town, or to Bang Sue metro station for convenient public transport into town.
2. Though they have candles, if you bring your own favourite mosquito repellent, this can help if you want to sit outside (which is a main point of this place to me), as it is located on the river bank.
3. If you time your reservation to enjoy the setting sun, so much the better.
4. We have always gone during the dry season, for obvious reasons.
5. The grounds are spacious. There are several relatively private little corners for special occasions where this may be nice.

“Nice Getaway from Bangkok!”
Reviewed August 21, 2011

Was brought here by a resident friend from Bangkok who felt that I knew most of the restaurants in Bangkok and wanted to find a place I had never been before. I wasn't disappointed! About a 40 minute drive on Saturday night, with light traffic. Best to get here early before the sunsets to see the view of the river and barges on the Chao Praya river.

The Thai food was excellent. Had the chicken masaman curry, fried fish with mango salad, tom yum koong, and also great desserts, stewed banana in syrup with coconut milk. Ambience and food were definitely worth the drive out to this destination.

“One of the most beautiful places inside Bangkok with a great taste as well. Wonderful!”
Reviewed October 30, 2009

The restaurant has a really beautiful garden along the river. When I came here the first time I was supprised to find a place like this in Bangkok. It did not stop with this first impression. The selection of the food and the taste was just great. The staff made some wonderful recommendations. Also good for parties or events.
