“Excellent and Peaceful Atmosphere to Calm Your Senses”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

Thrissur is my hometown and Vadakkunnathan Temple is one of the favorite temples of mine here. When I was in high school, as soon as the stress of academics caught upto me, I used to visit here, to take a nice 1 hour walk inside the peaceful atmosphere. It is architecturally beautiful and is situated right in the center of the city. This is also the place where the famous Pooram festival takes place each Spring.

A must see place in Thrissur.

“The best temple for visiting in Thrissur district...”
Reviewed December 14, 2012

The temple is situated in a compound called "Thekkinkaadu maithaani", in the centre of the town. Vehicles flow on all the 4 sides. But, once you get inside the temple, complete peace and calmness fill in you. You wont even feel the traffic outside. The best time to visit is around 5 pm. The temple is a very large one. Also, dont forget to write 'OHM HARISHREE GANAPATHAYE NAMAH' on a particular stone, which you will see on your way inside the temple. The temple is famous for the big annual festival known as Thissur Pooram.
