Converted barn which makes for a quaint eating venue, We shared a platter for 4 (2 adults 2 teenage girls) which consisted of beef strips , quiche ,fresh fruit and toasted breads a superb cheese and a homemade relishes (the brinjal and cherry is extremely good )The milk shakes and cappuchinos were good and we were all suitably replenished to continue on our way for =/- R 300.

“The harvest platter a must”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

It is a rustic eating place but the food is fresh, creative and delicious. The harvest platter, which is only available on weekends, is truly outstanding, featuring vegetables and fruits in season. The owners may not have majored in PR, but can they cook! Reservations are essential for weekends. Take your own wine.

“A wonderful surprise - Great food!”
Reviewed March 25, 2013

What you get there in terms of food is what many restaurants aspire to: fresh, simple and creative food in a great setting. The Ploughman's Platter is a must! Many ingredients are grown on the farm. The view from the terrace is stunning. The charm of the owners is not apparent at first sight, but can be discovered.

“Poor Service”
Reviewed March 24, 2013 via mobile

Not a place I would go to in a hurry, the coffee was weak and the staff inexerienced. The owner was rude and had no people skills! they need to take some lessons from the friendly, well run establishments in Clarens.

“Don't ask if the Lemon Meringue is fresh...!”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

I am a lover of lemon meringue. I will seek it out where ever I travel, and taste it, compare it, rate it, lament over it. My first question always is " when was you lemon meringue baked". Its my standard question. I only want to taste the freshest version of this angels food. Well, I asked this exact question at Cafe Moulin, which resulted in a rather awkward, distastefull interaction between myself and the (I assume) owner. It would appear I had made some attack on her establishment, fair and feelings. Being told it was an odd question, she has never been asked it, wouldn't sell old food and how very dare I attitude. Never really did get down to when it was baked, and never did get a slice either. The view is spectacular; and the cappucino was hot, but lacking coffee. I was upset a simple question has to evoke such defence, and put a damper on my morning.
