“Excellent hosted location for vacation in Provence”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

We have spent a week in La Mas Saint Michel, when touring all around Provence. A perfect location for day trips, a well invested room with a large bathroom situated in a beautiful area, very warm hostpitality by Vicenta and Jacques, with a rich local breakfast, are forming a very recommended place to spend your vacation.

As part of our two-week trip to Spain and France in June, we chose to stay at the Mas Saint Michel as our escape to the countryside between city visits. We were not disappointed! The peaceful surrounding, the charm of the house (relatively recent construction, but with a traditional architecture - which means modern bathroom and other amenities), and the attentiveness of our hosts made our stay most enjoyable. Sleeping with the window open and hearing the sounds of nature in early morning confirmed Provence's charms. Add breakfast on the patio surrounded by gardens and it makes for a memorable moment..

To show how much our hosts care about their guests, our daughter had forgotten her expensive sunglasses at a restaurant, that happened to be closed for the next 5 days. Since we had to leave before, Vicenta took care of getting the glasses back once the restaurant opened, and shipping them to us in Canada, with extra careful packaging. Now that is service!

When we go back to Provence (because we will go back), le Mas Saint Michel will definitively be on our itinerary.

Well actually i was looking for the place where is peaceful and calm but not far from the city! The small city ,Rognes, was perfect nice to drive to the bigger cities. We visited Arles by one hour drive and 20 min to aix en province. Small villages in ruberon (?) and avignon and saint remy are not that far away from the house.
The most important thing i should mention the host Vincenta and her husband. They were fantastic! Very nice to explain areas and good restaurant. Very fluent in English!!
My room was jolliette i remeber. We had our small kitchen oven, microwave, stove, dishes and glasses also fridge of course and laundry machine and iron . Also table with welcome flower by Vincenta. We had great dinner and wanted to stay more longer i stayed 4nights and i regret that i booked other bed and breakfast.
Room and bathroom were very clean and cozy. hot water was so good;-) especially you can see the winery and olive trees a
at your room. It was a bit cold when i stay so i couldnt swim but there's a pool of which Vincenta will take care.
Breakfast was very good fresh croissant and fruits , coffee, yogurt, tea! Also the dishes are so beautiful. You will feel you r very welcomed to provence!
The last thing i want to say is I will definately visit again!!!

We were so lucky to find Vicenta & Jacques lovely home to stay at for 6 nights. It is in a great location-Our room 'Joliette' was perfect-it had privacy being on two levels and beautiful views. The downstairs kitchen and dining area was very convenient to have when we brought home the delicious items from the local markets and shops.Vicenta was not only a gracious host but extremely helpful and knowledgeable with recommendations and directions. She has a map for everywhere! The petite dejeuner (breakfast) was bountiful (and on time) every morning with warm fresh baked breads, croissants, jams, fresh fruit and oj and plenty of hot coffee. We didn't get to enjoy the pool but it looked very inviting and clean but we did get to learn to play 'petanque' with our fun and generous hosts. Truly a very special find, we are happy to recommend them. K&M

Placed perfectly amid the vinyards just out side of Aix En Provence, this charming B&B run by a wonderfully helpful couple is like a dream come true. The rooms (We stayed in their Joliette room), were well appointed, clean and welcoming, with decore that highlights the local provence style.
Breakfast was a delight to wake up to every morning (at the time of our choosing - nice touch), as was the tranquility of the location. The gardens and pool areas are clean and well maintained and are a pleasure to walk around.
The passion of our hosts really impressed us, they really did their best to make our stay as wonderful as possible, with their helpful advise and their attention to details.
If we are ever to travel this way again, we wil be returning to Le Mas Saint Michel and highly reconmend it to anyone wanting a real Provence experience!

The picture on their website speaks for itself: a very nice home in a quiet location with view over a vineyard. Our bedroom (Joliette) was nicely appointed and very comfortable. We enjoyed the sumptuous breakfasts served by Vicenta, the host (and no need to get up early since breakfast was served at the time we desired). During the day the hosts lent us their bikes for a ride in the countryside. In the evening we had twice the opportunity to take the "aperitif" with the hosts and other guests sitting on the lawn in front of the Mas, watching the sunset. Beautiful!
We would have loved staying longer ... Must try!

We only stayed for 1 night in this wonderful chambre d'hôtes but would definitely come back and then take some more time!

The property is really nice and the rooms are clean and beautiful, especially La Pointe Rouge. This room is more spacious, has a terrace and a really really beautiful bathroom. You can also use the small kitchen with a washing machine and there is a small living room at the entrance with a fireplace and lots of books and brochures about the region.

We felt welcome immediately and you could see, that Vicenta and her husband take good care of everything. They helped us with finding a nice restaurant and gave us good information about the area and the sights. We could practise a tiny bit of our poor French, but they also speak a perfect english so you won't have any problems understanding each other.

For breakfast (on the terrace) we had croissants, baguette, jam, yoghurt, fresh juice and strawberries, coffee and tea and everything was really tasty.

Next to the place is a vineyard and you can feel far away from stress and the big city from the first moment on.

We can highly recommend this special place.

Merci beaucoup Vicenta! :-)
