Description: In a location truly fit for a king – on the cusp of always sunny Es Cavallet – and serving cuisine truly fit for a king, it’s no surprise the philosophy behind long-serving Ibiza restaurant La Escollera is that the client is king! You want it? You got it. Panoramic views across the Mediterranean Sea, multiple shaded wooden-decked terraces, a cool, open plan indoor dining space, tables in the sand, a chill out lounge area, cocktail bar, the friendliest staff and a warm, family-run vibe – and then there’s the food!Serving up authentic Spanish and Mediterranean-influenced cuisine including fresh seafood and prime cuts of meat, the La Escollera kitchen is open all year round (lunch and dinner in summer, lunch only in winter). Famous for their paellas, choose between mixed, seafood, vegetable, chicken and rabbit or the house specialty, ‘La Escollera’ with lobster. Highly recommended is the ‘Gallo San Pedro’, John Dory baked in salt and served with Ibicenco-style potatoes, ‘Tigres’ (stuffed mussels) and ‘Boquerones Mami’ (anchovies), all made from original recipes courtesy of owner Daniel Gonzalez’s mother that have stood the test of time – almost 20 years. For the more modern palates, Thai style chicken, duck magret and the newest addition of Californian sushi aim to please. The perfect space for special events, La Escollera is also available for weddings and private functions for up to 300 people. Picture perfect and a taste sensation!White Ibiza

“Extremely expensive, but extremely nice.”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

The Restaurant is situated on the beach front at the end of a long road which runs along the side of the salt lakes south of the Airport. The first thing you notice is the rather unpleasant smell coming from the stagnant water. If this doesn't put you off eating then continue on to the extremely luxuriously decorated Restaurant which immediately shows its pretentious nature off by dint of the fact it has a 'doorman come concierge' posted at the top of the three or four wooden stairs to its decked entrance.

If you ignore this and enter the place with an open mind you will find it is in fact a really nice place to sit and eat, despite the extremely hefty price tags attached to the food and drink.

The thing we couldn't overcome is that it doesn't matter how lovely your meal is, you end up having to pass a very smelly stretch of stagnant water on the way in and out, although the Restaurant itself manages to not suffer from this.

Hold your breath on the way there and on the way back, bring PLENTY of money with you and you'll not be disappointed as it is an extremely lovely place to spend a few hours.

“Very nice food and quiet atmosphere.”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

Delicious food. The oysters are amazing and the gazpacho is perfecly assembled. We ate delicious rices and good fishes. The decor is very symple, bold and beautiful and has fair prices and perhaps better food than in El Chiringuito that is in the same beach.

“Great romantic place”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

Highly recommended place for a romantic outing - albeit it is on the expensive side. The views over the Es Cavallets beach are incredible and the staff was super-attentive and friendly. The food was very good.

“Love it!!!”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

I love everything about this place, the food, the atmosphere, the music, the menu but most of all the view, the view is spectacular. Without doubt this place is special, like a desert oasis it's situated at the end of Playa Es Cavallet, which is for me the best beach on the island and the best place to get an all over tan... Wherever you are in Ibiza a visit here is a must.
