“It's a lovely home to stay in ,”
Reviewed September 6, 2017 for a stay in August 2017

Plenty of interesting walks and places of interest within easy reach. Plus the house is so welcoming ,very comfy in every aspect, we've stayed 3 years here, and hopefully will be staying again next year,

“Fantastic location and accommodation”
Reviewed June 12, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We loved our stay at Lochside Cottage and would highly recommend it to others. It is a central location for exploring North and South Uist, Benbecula and Barra, as well as being very near the excellent Co-op supermarket across the causeway. We were five friends and found the accommodation very spacious. The photos on the website don't do it justice. We spent most of the time together in the conservatory - great views to the loch and southern hills. Karen was a superb host and even bought us a cafetière, when I inquired about it. She was very prompt in her replies and extremely helpful and efficient. The house was exceptionally clean and tidy. The kitchen was very well kitted out for all our needs. I would love to go back and cannot recommend it highly enough.

“Fabulous holiday home!”
Reviewed June 12, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Loved this beautiful holiday home! Though it looks small from the outside it is remarkably big inside. There are four very good sized double bedrooms all decorated to a very high standard. The living room was cosy in the evenings with the log/coal fire .... but we spent more time in the lovely conservatory with views across the loch. The cottage provided every amenity & more than is usual for holiday accommodation & I would highly recommend it to anyone. Thankyou Karen for a lovely holiday in your beautiful cottage.

“Excellent accommodation”
Reviewed April 3, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We were lucky enough to find this house, through recommendation .A lovely, friendly welcome awaited us from the owners who gave us useful instructions on the house and area, not to forget an amazing welcome pack including bread ,milk, butter and lots of other goodies.

Every room is immaculately decorated and maintained and the owners have thought of everything. The house is very warm throughout and plenty of hot water in good showers.

The wifi was quick and efficient.

The house is very well located for travelling in the Uists and in close proximity to shops and restaurants.

The kitchen is large and was ideal for our large party .Once again all our needs had been anticipated and every appliance and tool provided.

We would thoroughly recommend this property for a hebridean holiday.

“A very comfortable stay”
Reviewed February 28, 2015 for a stay in February 2015

Don't be deceived by the external view of this property - it is a Tardis! 4 good sized double bedrooms, 2 good sized bathrooms and a lovely 'farmhouse' kitchen. The living room is on the small size and if there had been 8 adults it would have been snug, that said, it has a log burner fire and was a really lovely warm room on a February evening when the weather outside was rubbish. It has a conservatory that we didn't use (too cold at this time of year) but would easily give 8 people the extra living space in the warmer months.

The property is very well equipped, the owners have thought of everything. The decor is modern and well maintained. Along with the 2 rooms upstairs there is a landing with a desk. The wifi was appreciated and it coped with multiple devices without any problems.

The location was perfect for what we needed, it is just off the main north / south road through the Uists, about midway on the group of Islands that are connected by causeways so can be explored by car / bike. It gave us easy access to lots of different locations. I would say it is perfect for groups wanting somewhere as a base to explore.

There are 2 supermarkets within about half a mile and 2 hotels serving meals within a short drive. Would definitely stay in this property again.
