We had a very romantic and a relaxing weekend away. The highlight of the weekend was having spa under the starlit sky. It was magic. Graham, Christine and James were perfect host. They made our stay very comfortable and pleasant. I would highly recommend Tin Dragon Trail Cottages to anyone who is contemplating a romantic getaway. Another highlight of my weekend getaway was the animals and viewing of platapus. Other activities there are trout fishing, bush walking and tin mining historical site.

Hidden away in lush green surroundings this tranquil place was just the peaceful setting my husband and I needed. Nothing was too much for Graham and Christine to make our stay memorable. This would be a perfect spot to marry and stay on for the honeymoon. Then to return in later years for anniversaries. Thanks guys.

Tin Dragon Trail Cottages were the perfect place to start our romantic holiday. As soon as we arrived, we filled the spa, sat back & relaxed with a glass of bubbly! It is one of the MOST relaxing places we've ever stayed. Really comfortable bed with a snuggly doona, and lovely warm gas fire. The little touches were just as important - fresh flowers in the bathroom, along with the sample-size locally made toiletry products, were really lovely. Breakfast provisions were great also. Graham was very friendly & welcoming upon our arrival.
We absolutely loved the outdoor spa bath - it's both secluded enough to relax in, but has great views of the surrounding hills. The river running beside the property is also great to walk along and explore. This property really is picture perfect. We can't wait to go back for another relaxing, romantic stay. We can not speak highly enough of Tin Dragon Trail Cottages!

What a wonderful way to start our holiday. First class accommodation, hospitality and service and the most peaceful, picturesque location. Thank you Chris, Graham and James (and pet rooster) for making us feel so welcome and ensuring we had the best time at Tin Dragon Trail Cottages. Magical place for children and the alpacas are absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to return. Make sure you add Tin Dragon Trail Cottages to your itinerary.

As soon as you arrive down the windy lane leading from Branxholm, you realise that the owners have gone to a lot of trouble & used their imagination to set up a very interesting site. The cottages are very comfortable and well-furnished & easy to keep warm in the winter. The breakfast, sauces & condiments provided in the kitchen area of the room are more copious & varied than any we had seen in a rented room. Thanks to previous reviewers, we knew this & therefore brought some meat & veg for the evening meal which we seasoned from the stocked items. A flat screen TV with satllite channels helps pass the time inside, but it is the outdoors which fascinates, even in mid-winter. Plenty of space to roam, including wooded areas & a huge field populated with half a dozen alpacas.
As others have mentioned, we loved the outdoor spa bath despite the cold weather. Just us & the alpacas in the dark of late evening.
The owners have made a real effort to bring out the local history in relation to the Chinese tin miners. They also reacted very sensibly when through a misunderstanding we turned up with our six year old (be careful: they normally do not accept children) & tried to accommodate him.

We enjoyed the Tin Dragon Trail Cottages so much that we stayed an extra night making it 4 nights. We wished we had stayed here for our whole week away in Tassie! The seclusion of the place, the tranquility, the hospitality, the scenery are beyond words. Our cabin (chintock) felt like it was " ours" from the minute we walked in. So warm, cosy and comforting. Even though we had "neighbours" next door, the layout of the cabins made you feel as if the view that you could see from your front door was yours and yours alone. Graham and Christine are the perfect hosts, Graham even dug up worms for my husband so that he could fish in the Ringarooma river just 50 metres away! Graham and Christine are to be congratulated on this outstanding property and their genuine hospitality is a credit to them. Reccommend to all. We shall definately be back!
A very BIG thank you!!!
