What a wonderful dining experience :-) .We had heard such good feedback we decided to try the Pittenweem Inn for ourselves.
At the Pittenweem there are a few menus to choose from including the main menu, high tea, market and the special deal lunch menu.We opted for the set course lunch meal opting for three course for just over ten pounds. What a bargain.
On arrival, the place was immaculate, well decorated and blended the modern fresh decor with period features and history of the area. There were three dining areas and an outside terrace, all boasting comfortable eating in a great atmosphere. The owners have blended Ayrshire charm through artwork on the wall with a pebbled feature wall that they have restored lovingly this wall is a character feature of many buildings in the area.
Our hosts were welcoming and attentive-nothing was too much bother. The drinks were refeshingly cold and the meals were out of this world. They were well presented and contained the frehest of ingredients sourced locally. There was plenty to choose from in the set lunch menu and there was no scrimping, the plates were brimming full and were full of flavour and it was obvious that a lot of thought and care was put into the presentation and cooking of each meal. Our hosts were helpful and we sat for three hours just soaking up the atmosphere,I don't like being hurried and this is why I love visiting the Pittenweem customers come before tables, you aren't rushed along so they can get their next customers in.
We would highly recommend the Pittenweem Inn and we will be visiting again.Well done to the team here :-) .

After pre booking a table for the lunch time special, we were running late. After telephoning ahead the owner had stated that I was not to worry and that he would be more than happy to stay open for us. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and shown to a table. Every course we ordered and ate was perfect. The friendly helpful staffs made us feel so welcome and were so attentive. The perfect 3 courser for £10.95! We will definitely be back and we have already recommended to all we know. It is definitely worth a visit!!

What a fantastic meal!
We arrived late for dinner on a very busy Saturday night with two children and a toddler, one child with extreme food allergies, we were met by a very friendly family restaurant with fine food, homemade bread and an excellent overall menu, scallops couldn’t have been cooked more perfectly and the best I have tasted in a very long time.
The children were treated to a home cooked children’s menu with adjustments made to account for the food allergies, again on a busy Saturday night with no fuss involved whatsoever, an absolute dream to anyone who enjoys eating out with the family. We enjoyed it so much we returned for a bargain lunch of more fine food the very next day.
The Pittenweem inn is an example of a family restaurant with extremely good food at fantastic prices and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone, can’t wait to go back.

On the whole, we found the Pittenweem Inn to be a pleasant enough establishment. There is a varied & interesting menu & the fish we had was very nicely cooked. We did however find a distinct lack of atmosphere - I'm not sure if The Pittenweem knows whether it is an Inn or a restaurant - and the service could be improved on as the staff were a little stilted. There is a slim chance that we would return if we were in the area, purely for the food but I think with more research, we may have found somewhere a bit more welcoming that we would have enjoyed more.

We on the whole enjoyed our visit to the Pittenweem Inn, The starters were mixed, the pate was very good and a generous portion, I had Crab and avocado that was very bland and my son had Curried prawns that was really very average.

The main courses were all very good, tasty and good size portions. Deserts where quite delicious.

The only problem was a) The atmosphere in the restaurant.. lacking b) The staff, I dont know what had happened but the waiting on staff seemed to have a poor attitude, it took the edge off what should have been a nice night.

hello

thank you for taking the time to review your recent visit
we are happy that in general you enjoyed the food offering and that your
main courses were all very good, tasty and good size portions and
Desserts were quite delicious
I am sorry that you thought the staff had a poor attitude this is certainly not the norm from our young professional team who have been with us for a number of years
this is something that our team has sat down and discussed and we will certainly continue to provide a high standard of service as well as food
