Spacious family room but overpriced

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 23, 2018via mobile
The hotels family room was a typical Coron-3star room with basic equipment but more space than the standard rooms. Cleaniness was ok. Poor was wifi. For the service offered, the room was badly overpriced.

I would stay here again when I go back to Coron. It's a great place to stay and having your room right next to the pool is big plus. Breakfast is great and staff are friendly. Close to a lot of eating areas and walking distance to Mt. Tapyas. The only thing I didn't like was their tour packages were more expensive and they push you to get it through them. Other than that, everything is really great.

As to previous reviews, the hotel pictures can be deceiving. PROS it’s close to town, walking distance to good restaurants like Lolo Nonoys , Carl’s BBQ, Sugba sa balay , close to church if you want to tour . You can also rent a tricycle for a reasonable price to do a town tour at your own pace even add Cabo beach and Hot Springs . The staff is cordial and helpful and will try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. CON make sure if you are getting a deluxe room and want it next to the pool, SPECIFY IT or else they will give you the room next to the guardhouse which offers no view at all and no WIFI connection. Amenities that are not available can be replenished by going to the reception desk for example towels, toilet paper which can be lacking etc. They are quick to fix whatever is broken in the room though. The breakfast is ok but will not recommend the Filipino breakfast. The hotel looks a little rundown but can be easily fixed. Word of advice. Do research on tour companies prior to arrival or get the fliers from the airport. If you want a private tour, keep in mind that the base price includes the boat and tour guide NOT food or entrance for each island you want to go to and the price will add up. Will we stay here again? Possibly not .

Hotel pictures can be pretty deceiving. I think rooms might need renovating. The theme is santorini I think. The locations is strategic. Near all the restaurants that you must try.

The food was good ( breakfast ). Im not expecting much. After island hoping, you can actually relax at the pool.

The room was spacious, and cozy. Having that view of the pool right outside the window is definitely a plus. The WiFi works good and with decent speed, too. Friendly crew and owner who greets you every time you take your breakfast. Speaking of which, you'll have it free and the overlooking view is definitely a plus. It was definitely a very enjoyable stay. I highly recommend staying there!

Room tip: Best view, great food

The pictures can be pretty deceiving.. yes the pool looks great with the lighting and white features.. however the rooms can use some renovating. Especially the tarnished, outdated bathrooms.. the white linen and white walls is a sad attempt to give the room a modern feel but it is impossible when they consider 2 white (grey really) plastic picnic chairs as a part of their decor. The room had so many ants, i requested for an upgrade but they had no availability.. the staff were great, and did what they can, a gentleman came up quickly with bug spray and a broom to try to get rid of the ants and we asked for them to leave the big spray. The drain to the showers were terrible in both my room and my friend's room.. the hot water was in and out... they did have a great view in the dining area, however there too had sooo many ants, gnats and flies. The food was good, not great but good.. one of the best things on the menu was the noodles but it's really just ramen (and how can anyone make bad ramen). The massage was great and super cheap. A little weird that we had to walk up pass the boilers to get to the spa room but it's worth it. I got an hour full body massage for about $10. Shout out to the security guard as well, who immediately ran to guests with an umbrella anytime they needed it (rainy season). The security guard also ran out to the local pharmacy to buy meds for some of the guests when they requested for it. Overall great staff but ehh I wouldn't stay here again.
