“A Flowery Place to Stay =))”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

It is a modern place to stay with flowers decorations like towels, walls, tissue (formed into a flower) are decorated with flowers. It is located near the market which you can walk or ride a tricycle going there.

We stayed in their Ruby room (good for 6 persons with 3 double beds). The room is spacious and clean. Make up room is via request. Everything is via requests even refilling the soap and shampoo. The breakfast was great, they also accomodate all our requests like what cooked of egg, scrambled egg with cheese (was the best!). Also, they allowed us to check out late. Staffs are friendly, helpful and always smiles.

Our problems are the aircon is too slow to get cold, the flood in our bathroom floor and the different time of black out (which is given in Coron Town).

At the time when we were still planning for the trip, a friend was suggesting a much cheaper hotel/B&B. But since I want our trip to not just be fun but also comfortable, I pushed for Micasa Lodge.

I am really glad I did. Yes, Micasa Lodge is not exactly a world class hotel but it's actually a good find. We booked for 3 rooms and we immediately got 2 rooms when we got there (around 8am or so). The room that we got at the 2nd floor was modern-looking, spacious and clean. Even the bathroom's surprisingly big.

The only thing I got disappointed with, was the fact that nobody cleaned the room during our 2nd day there. It was left as is when we got back from island hopping. The bath towels are also quite thin and you'll have to pay P50 (around $1.20) if you want a "beach towel".

Nevertheless, I am still a happy and contented guest. The location of Micasa Lodge is perfect - it's not exactly in the busy area but is just 3 to 5 minutes away in case you need something from the town. The staff were also nice and accommodating. Plus, despite missing the free breakfast, they agreed to let us have it for lunch instead (food choices was still based on their breakfast menu).

PS. There's no swimming pool. Trycicle going to and fro the "restaurant strip" cost P10 (around $.25) per person.

Compared to other Coron hotels that I've stayed-on, I can say that this one is the most recommended. The location is perfect, just a walking distance to the boat port, market and restaurants. It's conveniently located 3-5mins away from the bustling sounds of the busy town. The room is a combination of white walls, black headboard, red wall accents and a sliding mirror closet. The bathroom is complete with basic toiletries. Breakfast is served on the rooftop resto with a good sea view. Most of all, the rate is very affordable.

Turned up on the day and the satff were very welcoming. They gave us a slight discount and offered us 2 very nice rooms (for 4 people). The rooms were clean, spacious and new. However with tiled corridor and open plan, noise travelled VERY easily and we were often woken by other inconsiderate guests early morning. We also had a slight problem with rats scuffling above the ceiling along the rooftiles... Breakfats was good and they were very ameanable with various dietry requirments. Staff were kind and very helpful advising uus of places to eat in town and sorting our hotel transfer. Good prices for what we got... i would recommend with ear plugs :-)

We arranged for airport roundtrip transfers which I think is really advisable upon booking. Upon arrival at the lodge, you'll be greeted by the friendly staff, the place has wi-fi access on the lobby areas located at every floors where your room is, accommodation is great. The lodge was just newly constructed last September& has nice amenities - rooms have flat screen tvs, hot/cold shower areas- we stayed at the Diamond Room where there's a good view, plus it comes with complimentary breakfast served at their rooftop which provides a good view of the sea & surrounding islands in front & the majestic Mt. Tapyas Cross at the back. Their location is perfect as well, very accesible to your choice of stop when you like to explore the place. Every destination can be reached by tricycle with a flat rate of only P10.00/pax. The tricylce drivers are courteous and kind as well. Overall, the accommodation & amenities are very good, as definitely we'll choose this again as our lodging place when we come back.

Room Tip: You can ask the customer assistant taking your call to book you in room with a good view....

Located just along the National Highway of Coron town, Micasa Lodge is accessible to restaurants, Catholic church, the market and wharf. I'm told it opened September of 2012 so everything is new. I love the rooms which are equipped with flat screen TV, mirrored sliding cabinet. If you check out their website, the pictures of the rooms are quite accurate. I stayed in a double bed room, enjoyed 2 pillows (my friend had 2 pillows as well) and a fleece blanket since the room is air conditioned. The bathroom boasts of a rainfall shower head.
Room make-up is upon request and smoking is only at the veranda.
The downsides of my stay are:
1) No vista of the sea. While the rooms are comfortable, they do not have a view of the sea.
2) Electricity in the island fluctuates so there are times that the air conditioning gets affected, good thing there is a ceiling fan
3) Choices in their Menu at the rooftop restaurant are few, but a view of the sea and islands makes up for it.
4) Some rooms do not have windows that open to the outside.
The staff of Micasa are very accommodating and courteous.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that has window opening to outside the building. There are rooms that have connecti...
