“friendly staff, homey atmosphere”

I've always visited trip advisor for feedbacks on hotels before I book one. My fiancee and I wanted an escape from the normal and found Coron very promising. We were right! Coron is a paradise to its own: breathtaking views of the lakes, unreal coral reefs, pristine beaches, amazing people!
Asia Grand View hotel is an oasis near downtown. The room we had was spacious and very clean. Always showered with hot water (which is a plus!). The restaurant is welcoming and the food is great. Their calamari was one of the best I've had as you can taste its freshness.
Kudos to Corrin and the whole staff for making us feel at home. We also saw the camaraderie that you guys have and we felt that you were sincere in making sure that we are taken cared of. Special mention to Ed, the bartender, for the fabulous drinks and good company. Thank you so much! We will highly recommend this hotel to our friends and family.

We stayed here in January 2012 as a last minute decision due to our pre booked accommodation (jendi seafront) being a disaster. We passed Asia grand view on our transfer from the airport and both commented how impressive it looked. We weren't disappointed. We arrived late into the evening in the hope they had a room. The reception staff were instantly welcoming and made us feel as ease. They showed us to our room which was beautiful, with a lovely veranda overlooking the pool area. We were only going to stay 2 nights but were blown away with how friendly and accommodating the service was that we extended it to 4 nights! Nothing was too much trouble, we needed some laundry doing, it was taken away in the morning and brought back in the afternoon. They were happy for us to eat on our veranda some days instead of in the restaurant. When we were relaxing by the pool, staff were really attentive with drinks orders or food. It is rare for a resort to make you feel like you were the only guests, but due to the personable staff it really felt we were. To top it off, the staff all came out to the front of the resort to wish us well with the next part of our trip. It felt like we were saying goodbye to longstanding friends!

We will definitely be back!

This was the best hotel we stayed in while in the Philippines. Location was fantastic, food great in hotel and rooms pristine and massive. Not sure what it actually cost as purchased in a package.

Please be aware of Tours4fun Philippines (not US company) we had bad experience with this company and would ask others to be wary.

The hotel is amazing. Very comfortable, great swimming pool to relax after a whole day of island hoping. Service was good. Location wise is great. It is only 3 min away from coron town by tricycle and far away from all the noise of Coron town. Never really ate there apart from breakfast. Breakfast was not great but was enough. We just bought our diner from the fish market in Coron. Fresh sea food and super super cheap. We took it to a restaurant in front of the market, the chef there was great and cooked every thing. Also if you want to arrange a boat tour dont take it from the hotel it is more expensive, just head to the town. They have a lot of tours much cheaper, you can share a boat with pple else you can rent your own boat full day for 1500 pesos to coron island and 3000 to malcapuya and banana island.

Stayed here on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Coron, as she said it is ideally located just outside of town (3 minute tricycle) to avoid the noise and chaos of being in town center. I was with a group (my cousins and sister visiting from the US), and we were all pleasantly surprised. Here is my good and bad list:

Good:

1) Service is excellent. Carmela seems to run a type ship, and the people working there are on top of it. Little things like letting us borrow a large cooler for 3 days to put beer in on our boat trips without charging us are the little things that make me happy (I hate when you spend for a decent hotel and they try to make money off of you for every little thing).
2) The resto/lobby area is nice, very peaceful since out of town. Has a decent view and nice breeze always coming through.
3) The food was excellent, much better than most hotels in this price range in the Philippines. Particularly the Mongolian Beef and the Scechuan Chicken. And the Rock Lobsters were awesome.
4) Very quiet, always felt there was plenty of areas my group could hang out (7 of us) to chill and relax.
5) Rooms are nice, added touches of fresh flowers on the bed and bathroom sink everyday are a plus that most local hotels don't understand.
6) I was originally a bit worried that it was outside of town, but the location is really perfect. It almost in town, but just outside enough to stay peaceful and quiet.

Bad:

1) The mattresses are not so comfortable as they are a bit hard for me. It seems they went out of their way to get everything right, and then skimped on the beds a bit.

Obviously we were happy with the place, as there are a lot of positives and only one negative that stood out. Beds are only a minor detail for many, but some people this can be a deal breaker. I think they can probably upgrade their mattresses, or just add some foam or tempur style top to them and this place will really be a perfect little homebase to explore the island hopping excellence of Coron.

By the way, we were there for three days and took a boat out all three days for entire day to island hop. So nice, so relaxing, just awesome. Every day we found a private little beach all to ourselves and had a bbq, drank beer and watched sunset.

Very good choice, newly built, well done rooms, well equipped with TV/DVD & cable(which wasn't connected yet though), Nice friendly staff, needs improvements in the restaurant menu, and on some of the service there, It is a bit difficult with the rooms as all rooms are located down the hill
so going up and down is a bit of a hassle, BUT The steps leading down to the rooms and the pool are well made and actually wide enough, so not as tiring as Serendipity in Koh Lipe, Thailand which by the way never ever go to TOTAL SAFETY HAZARD. the quality of the woodwork at Asia
grand View is superb. Overall a good choice if you want to stay in Coron Town. and be close to the decent restos, yet be accessible to all the different areas to go to out of there.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the upper side so u dont have to walk too much up and down

Having done our research before choosing Asia Grand View we were not disappointed. Walking around town this is definitely the best place to stay if you want a bit more luxury and comfort.

The rooms are spacious, bathrooms are nice and have a good, powerful, and always hot shower. The pool area is lovely.

The best thing about this place by far are Carmela and her staff who are welcoming and friendly and will go beyond all normal calls of duty to make you feel welcome, and looked after.
We even missed breakfast one morning as we were exhausted, the staff, without being asked to made us up some breakfast and brought it to our room for us! What a lovely surprise. I don't think I've ever stayed at any other hotel that cares so much about it's guests!

Not really any negatives, breakfast is fresh, and topped up on request. Eggs, bacon, meat, cheese, salad, cereals etc. Restaurant food is good, but if you are there for more than a week you may find the menu starts to get a bit limited. no tv in the rooms, but actually we found we didn't miss it that much.

The hotel is a bit out of town, but you can walk it in 5 minutes. I would recommend getting a tricycle at night though as there are wild dogs around coron, although they never bothered us. It is nice being out of town as coron town itself isn't that nice, quite busy.

Do take mosquito repellent. You will need it around the hotel. We didn't wear it one night and got bitten quite a lot in the restaurant. No problems when we wore it though.

Day trip wise - go to delores in town. Next to the seadive. There are several different trip options - tour a,b,c etc. However she let us pick the places we wanted to go, provided us with a boat to ourselves and whatever food and drink we wanted, a captain, boatman and cook/ guide for the day for 1500 pesos per person, including entrance fees. Was a fab day, and
great value for money.

Diving was great too. We dived wrecks 2 days, and used seadive and coral bay. Coral bay slightly cheaper, smaller groups and a little friendlier, but no complaints about either really. Very well looked after.

Room Tip: Ask for a room near to reception if steps are a problem for you
