“Good to do once”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014

I went diving here and enjoyed it, especially the Thermoclines. Water went from 78% to 95%. As you dive, you can see where the cold and hot water meet - it looks like a underwater bridge. Really cool.

The visibility is only 20 feet so stay close to your dive master. Also use less weight that you would when diving in the Sea.

Be advised that the hike to the lake is strenous. You must put on your scuba gear (except fins) then hike up and down some stairs. Be sure to take your time and hold on to the railings. I didn't have any problems but it can be a little slippery at times.

“Not for snorkeling”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2014

I totally forgot my last experience in that this lake is not very good for snorkelers and can totally be skipped. I cannot speak for the diving, although I did see a number of divers do a 35 minute dive at what seemed a 30-40 deep level.

“a good swimming experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

we didnt stay here for long as this was our last leg of the tour. the water was very clear and the lime stones surrounding us have more commanding presence than in Kayanga Lake, maybe because its more higher and larger. Only few people were here with us so its more serene & quiet, we swam at our heart's content. nice to swim here after we spent in CYC Beach where there are hundreds of jelly fishes attacking us.

“Amazing experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2014

Diving in a volcanoes crater is something special ! Lots of strange shrimps and odd looking catfish types ! Nothing much else !!! But 37degrees Celsius temperature on my watch was incredible and felt very strange too, 'diving in bath water' !!! It is set in fantastic beautiful surroundings ! Try and and get there late after all the Chinese and Koreans have left !!, I dived it with one other and we had the place to ourselves ! A great diving experience !! But a bit of climbing to do with all ur kit !! Take less weight with you as your not going to be wearing a wet suit !! Makes it a bit easier ! A diver or a swimmer an amazing experience like nothing iv ever done before !totally recommend
