“Scenic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2012

A short trek is also required to get to Kayangan Lake. We forgot to put Off Lotion when this is the very place where gigantic mosquitoes are found. They were really big. Fortunately, none of us were bitten. The trek was a 150 trek up and 150 trek down. We stopped at the middle and took pictures at Coron's most photographed spot. We spent quite some time there and then headed down the path to the lake. Under water, you could see interesting rock formations. Sadly, I cannot take a good picture of them. :( Those rocks were abrasive that we had to take extra care not to bump or graze into them. There were also baby swordfishes in the water. We also went inside a cave but it was too dark. Gingging told us that at certain times of the day, the cave reflects the water against its walls.

“mind blowing beauty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2012

I have read good reviews for Kayangan Lake but I wasn't expecting our reaction when we see it in person. It's definitely mind blowing! The best part of it was, we went as if it was exclusive for us. I suggest to go first thing in the morning - we went as our first stop at 8am. A short hike is good since it is considered warm up for the day's fun! Make sure you take good pictures when you reach the top of the hike for short stop. We were definitely surprised with the beauty of Coron!

Though this is not a better location for diving (reserve the diving at Barracuda Lake, Japanese Sunken and Twin Peak), the water of Kayangan Lake is sooooo clear you would want to just stay longer and linger to the ambiance of the nature. We stayed almost an hour just swimming, snorkeling, taking pictures and enjoying the water. I know how to swim so I dont need a life vest, it is worth it to explore the middle and have fun in the clear blue water.

By the way, there is a fee for this attraction. Don't forget to get a ticket first before doing the Island Hopping. Your boat captain should know but make sure you remind them to get before leaving cos that is what happened to us. Total fee is 300/person - entrance to Kayangan Lake (200pesos) and Barracuda Lake (100pesos). Apparently, its a package. But again, it's all worth it!

i disliked the trek! hahaha... other than that, it was beautiful! the place was erie as if something would pull you down into the caves under the lake! there were big caves underneath where you swim and i feel like the lich ness monster would come out anytime! it was a great experience!

“GORGEOUS place but too many people”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

The lake was just breathtaking and the "hike" there wasn't too bad (slippery though, be careful!), although I was breathing heavily by the end:-) The only negative thing I have to say about Kayangan Lake is there are TOO many people! It was a little noisy and crowded but we did enjoy the scenery. Definitely worth the trip. Just expect a crowd!
