“Great value, people, food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

The people in this place are really good. The staff are courteous and friendly, the tour guides are helpful and patient, the bartender and waiters in the bar are good to chat with (ask for bob-tender). The tour provided is really great, you get to see the magnificent places in the area and you dont need to pay that much. Also the resort will provide uou with great food that would really fill you up for your trip. The daily breakfast is really sumptuous and the serving is quite large. The restaurant / bar and garden area are clean and spacious. Downside of the place are the rooms. The room i have stayed in is quite old and needs improvement - beds are squeaky, bathroom is small, sheets smell old but clean. Overall i would recommend this place

Not normally the type to do all inclusive, we opted for Coron Village Lodge as we didnt have much time in the area and wanted a good guide to the best spots. We were dubious at first, but after our first day we were so glad we booked with the Lodge. Food is all inclusive and is actually good. The tours and guides are great, and because you get your own boat, you get to see what you wanna see. We were well looked after and had an amazing time. I would defiantly recommend this place to anyone who in is Coron for a few days, is on a budget, and doesn't want to waste time trying to find a good guide.

The place was decent enough for your to stay for 3D2N, although it surely could use some improvements. There is a cable TV which was useful for use since it was rainy at some point during our stay. The bathroom is quite small but they managed to clean it daily. They also provided towels, which was something I did not expect, so this was good. The bed linens unfortunately smelled like they came from an old storage area or they did not dry up well. There was breakfast included, which is filling enough for me.

coron village lodge(cvl) is an old timer in coron. they are quite popular and centrally located; in the poblacion of coron town.

AC rooms assigned to us were kinda old but fully functional. sheets are clean though the blankets and towels are nearing threadbare. despite that, they change these 3 daily, so after a daily activity, expect fresh clean things.

the bathroom has hot cold shower but pressure is not that strong. the water at the faucet and the flush were brownish; may be these are rainwater. the faucet for toothbrush/face washing and shower water were clear though; so we were safe.

the other occupants have wastes which were not cleaned rightaway by the staff. it was quite an eyesore..

we had free breakfast and lunch included in our package. they only serve one type of breakfast fare for all its visitors. these were filling (ie. beef tapa, egg, coron's danggit; chorizo, fried fish, egg).we had free flowing coffee and water during our stay.. their food are cheap and delish(for lunch/dinner) ranging from P160-P220 per viand.

the lodge staff were accommodating and helpful especially the tour guide assigned to us, argel. they answered our inquiries. argel was funny and helpful guide to us. he directed us during picture taking. so when u go to cvl, look him up and give him a substantial tip..

cvl, took care of our accommodations, food, tours. it was a hassle free tour provided to us..i recommend this place to those visiting coron.. would even stay here next time..

tour cost per pax P6770(4d-3n); with 9pax:
accomodation; 3 ac rooms
food(breakfast, lunch, snacks, welcome drink)
coron loop tour- siete pecados, twin peaks, dicantuman beach, kayangan lake, maquinit hot spring
calauit safari tour
airport transfer
transpo from/to hotel to sites

Thanks to tripadvisor, I found this lodge or more like expanded guest house. I liked the all inclusiveness--from the airport transfer (roundtrip), to the room, to the tours, to the meals and snacks. With that, I didn't have to think about anything and just have someone else worry about the details even for a brief time. We stayed here for 3 days/2 nights in Jan 2012

-Nice folks picked us up from the down in the cuts Busuanga airport, as in the middle of nowhere. We were all packed into this compact SUV (6 of us btw) and a driver and his lady companion (wife? who knows and her purpose for being there, beats me. We coulda used that extra seat she took). Like I said, nice folks and they were there when we arrived despite our delay (no thanks to Cebu Pacific, we had a horrible 6 hr delay, who the hell does that and can still be in business?) She gave a brief overview of the island, I guess that was her role that day. Nuff said..

-We arrive at the lodge, checked in fairly quick and got our rooms. Pretty basic, spartan at best, I figured we weren't going to be sitting there anyway. As long as it and the bathroom is clean, it's a winner in my book. Small 13 inch tv and AC and fan, so the room was nice and cold, so sleep came easy. Free coffee and wifi in the patio/sitting area, don't forget the bug lotion.

-Food was not bad at all, it was served buffet style and the choices were pretty good. The servers were bland and at some point, I forgot they were even there.

-And the redeeming factor about CVL is the tours they have along with the exceptional tour guides; this is why I am giving them 2 more extra stars. Coron was one of the best trips I have taken in my life because of the island hopping, snorkeling tours they had. Coron is a truly beautiful place, I would describe it as "unspoilt paradise". I was also impressed that the guides knew their stuff and were really, genuinely proud of their islands. We liked our guide so much we gave him enough tip so he could renew his tour guide license. When someone loves what they do for a living, it shows and the enthusiasm is contagious. It really made our whole trip.

-Since we were late in arriving on the 1st day we missed some of the planned trips for that day, so they 3rd day we were rushing through the last leg of our tour and we were sad because we didn't get to spend that much time at the Twin Lagoon and go to the last beach. The night prior, the owner of the property, approached and asked about our stay, we mentioned that we were late in arriving the 1st day and then she started to scold us gently, nonetheless we got SCOLDED, in no part our fault because Cebu Pac was the one that made us late. Huh? Ok, took a deep breath and another swig of the bottle. We just stopped responding till she left.

All in all, CVL was a decent place to stay, close to the town proper with excellent tour guides. The other staff were, as another reviewer said, 'robotic' and were just going through the motions. At least smile lady, I just gave you a fat wad of cash. There was another instance where one of the staff were talking and laughing at one guest, not knowing that we were seeing and hearing her, being totally unprofessional. I look forward to next time, wouldn't mind staying here again as long as we get the same tour guide.

stayed at this lodge for 4D 3N.

1. apartments not well maintained.
2. we requested several times, first thing in the morning before leaving for our island tour for room cleaning.. ending.. REQUEST NOT GRANTED! poor housekeeping service!!!!!!! for our whole stay in the lodge this was the scenario. Housekeeping staff needs to be trained in order for them to provide good service. PLEASE!!!
3. no WATER on our last day, pipe was broken.. informed one of the staff about it the same guy who was assigned to clean our apartment. He tried to fix the pipe by putting it back together, water keeps on bursting of course! I got irritated because.. HELLO! common sense?! you're supposed to turn it off first in order for him to tie something or use rubber to connect the tube pipes. ending he called another staff. they informed us that the water will get back in 5-10mins. we waited. after 20mins the clear water from our first day stay changed into rusty with mud.. grrr!

--so many things to say about our experience @ Coron Village Lodge but just to make it short.. SORRY BUT WE ARE REALLY DISAPPOINTED.

We did not made a mistake in choosing this hotel. The people, service and food was awesome. Many thanks to our tour guide "Kuya Jun" for making our first visit to Coron very special. We will definitely go back and will still choose to stay at this hotel.
