The Flacq Market is definitely worth a visit, however, be patient and get ready for a very tight squeeze up and down the rows of vendors. Great place to get some inexpensive clothes. The fresh food looked good too.

very busy market. Tight squeeze at times. Market used by locals and tourists. Vendors very friendly not in your face all the time. You are able to buy anything. Including a lot of look a like items at a fraction of the cost. Felt very safe

Honestly a very over hyped local bazzar. hardly an attraction. a collection of a few narrow lanes and tighly packed shops . a regular local market, few touristy shops selling souviniers and t-shirts. rest is a fruits and veg market and shops selling street foods and temple/prayers requirements. not worth the efforts for a special trip .

After driving in the fascinating countryside with tall sugar cane and huge areas of volcanic rock, through little villages where residents just walk across the road infront of the traffic, some lovely coloured houses, some not so good, the area then gets very busy with many different local shops/bars you know instantly you are near the market (we did the same journey two years ago it is interesting.

Once at the market our driver tries and suceeds to get a parking space opposite and will wait for us.

The market is so exciting place to be, lots of hustle and bustle, unlike anything we have in the UK, the amount of people, the noise, the smells blows your mind. Here you can buy literally anything, great to mix with the locals. There is a vast array of stalls whether is be your local fruit or vegetables, which is at the front area of the market. Walk deeper inside and you find shoes, clothes, fabulously coloured dresses, and wonderful Mauritian woven bags.

It is a total brilliant place to spend around 1 hour, then a nice relaxing journey back to the hotel either side of the narrow road

This is a very large and colourful market remember to haggle or things could be very expensive, most of the hotels do free mini bus to and from the market, visit the supermarket while your there as well
