Had the most amazing time at the lion quays for my wife and my 2nd anniversary. We arrived at 10am and checked in early by such a friendly reception desk where nothing was too much. Got to our room overlooking the canal which had Champagne on ice with chocolates aswell. As we were celebrating it was rude not to. Went over to the pool and sauna, had a swim in a huge pool and chill out in the sauna and Jacuzzi. After that we went upstairs for lunch which was gorgeous. Was time for some exercise so went for a walk along the canal to chirk which was nice. We dined in the Waterside Bar and had a 3 course evening meal with a mains of fillet steak and it was absolutely out of this world. The whole meal was different class. After a couple of bottles of wine it was time for bed. We woke at 9am for breakfast which had anything you wanted. It was perfect. We then checked out but still had use of the facilities so went over to use the spa. Didn't have any treatments but took full advantage of the saunas and steam room and also loved the snow cave. The jacuzzi in the spa was amazing. All in all this was the most perfect couple of days and are looking at booking another stay in the new year this time for longer. We can not wait after finding this gem of a place. Thanks to all the staff

We stayed her for my partners birthday during the summer. We took the thermal suite and meal package which worked out as good value. After visiting spa's in the past we have a fairly high expectations, and this one didnt dissapoint. Lovely jacuzzi, steam room, saunas and even an ice room! The meal was fairly decent but nothing to rave about. The room was a big letdown, very small and basic when we are used to staying in something a bit more special at other spa hotels.

We stayed her on the 29th September for the weekend and it was amazing. The location is excellent for a romantic walk along the pretty canal which is surrounded by countryside. The hotel itself is small but has a lot of character. We upgraded to a superior canal view room with balcony and it was worth the money. The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice, clean and cosy, somewhat on the small side I have to say, and the bathroom minute!
The country club spa is the crown and glory of this hotel along with the food. We arrived at the outstanding spa early in the morning and were blown away by the facilities. The hydrotherapy pool with its atmospheric lights was the best and has jets of water to massage almost every part of your body, both above and under the water. We enjoyed 2 treatments at the spa (couples massage and facial) and again this was fantastic, (pay the extra for the joint room its very nice) make the most of the bar in the treatment area before you go in for your treatment, they have some great snacks and drinks, and the view from the terrace is lovely. We enjoyed a 3 course lunch at the spa which was faultless. The food was exception and varied in choice, desert amazing. We had lots of fun using the sauna and steam room, running quickly out of the snow cave (which is fantastic) remember to wear your flip-flops!! The hot and cold showers and ice bucket are a must also if doing it properly. In the evening we chose to eat at the hotels Waterside restaurant. The food here was again faultless; I had the steak which was perfect and the presentation of the food all ads to the brilliant atmosphere, a good night all round. All in all we had a really romantic and relaxing anniversary break, enjoying treats in the room courtesy of the hotel. I would use the spa again but would prefer something a little bit bigger hotel wise. Fantastic weekend break.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a superior room, the view of the canal and country side is worth the money.

My friend and I had a spa day there with the offer from facebook. The spa and facilities are just beautiful. Very clean and the staff were so courteous. I thoroughly recommend the rasul mud.
The hotel itself is fine. Rooms are a little on the small side but nicely furnished and clean. The breakfast was very good and once again the staff were very polite. We ordered sandwiches from room service, cheese and tomato with chips. They arrived promptly but were inedible as they were so dry and at £11.00 a little bit expensive. All in all a nice play and I would do the spa deal again with hesitation.

Room Tip: One overlooking the canal or facing the car park towards the canal as there is quite a bit of road noise from the A483

We went in a family group (11 in total) for a special birthday celebration weekend.

I can't fault anything - it was absolutely lovely.

Rooms were great, beds really comfy and plenty of space. They also managed to get our whole party located together.

Location and scenery is gorgeous.

Restaurants were really good - food was excellent.

Staff were really lovely and helpful.

Spa is really good.

All in all a perfect weekend away :-)
