I booked Robins Rest in September 2017 not really knowing what to expect but we were Just thrilled with the cottage and the beautiful garden and such a very warm welcome from Robin and Christine .Thank you both so much for making us feel so at home .Lovely flowers and freshly laid eggs from Christine's hens on our arrival .
I said to Christine when I met her that she had thought of everything one would need in a holiday cottage . Well laid out and very comfortable through out and furnished to a high standard . The Peacocks were welcome visitors to the veranda leading from the lounge .Just loved to watch the antics of the young chicks and their squabbles over the cooked new potatoes we fed them .. Just delightful . Robins Rest lived up to its name ..no doubt about that … Robin and Christine were at hand if we needed anything or any help or advice on places to eat .The cottage is well placed for visiting many places in East Sussex . Stunning coastal walks … Seven Sisters to Cuckmere Haven and the Seven Sisters visitors centre and back again . Birling Gap to Beachy Head , Beachy Head to Eastbourne … we enjoyed these walks .. Booked a ferry to the I.O.W to visit Osbourne House . Did a park and ride to Brighton to see the Royal Pavilion .Lewes castle has amazing views and Lewes has a very good shopping centre ..Tesco supermarket , or there is a Morrisons in Seaford .There are a few good pubs in the area to have a meal out .If its Sunday lunch then do book ahead as they might well be full and turn you away . The kitchen at Robins Rest is very well equipped for cooking meals and the hob and oven very easy to use . We were fairly lucky with the weather during our stay so able to get out a fair bit , when we did sit in the garden it was really nice to sit in lovely surroundings .We came needing a holiday and rest and felt on leaving that we had Just that . We both said this is somewhere we would love to come back to .
The cottage is very comfortable and very clean. The garden is wonderful. There is much to do and see in the surrounding area. Despite the less good weather, we had a fantastic holiday. Thanks Robin and Christine!
This is a super annexe with all the facilities you might need for a self-catering stay. Robin and Christine are down-to-earth, cheerful hosts, who are there to help if needed but otherwise leave you to enjoy the accommodation as if it was your own. The countryside is wonderful South Downs National Park land and the farmhouse was ideally located for a walking and sightseeing holiday. But note that having your own car is an essential, as the property is about 4 or 5 miles from Lewes. A particularly useful aspect of booking this accommodation is that Robin and Christine do not insist on a rigid Friday to Friday, or Saturday to Saturday term and that flexibility is quite rare.
We had a wonderful stay at "Robin's Rest". The place was spotless, comfortable and cosy. Robin and his wife were very welcoming hosts.
We had a lovely stay, Christine and Robin are fantastic hosts and we will be booking again for next year.
