“Absolutly fantastic, the perfect staycation!”
Reviewed March 8, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We stayed here for a couple of days following the birth of our son. It was the perfect hideaway for us to spend time as family with our new-born and eight year old. Warm, cosy and tastefully decorated to the 5 star standard as described in the beautiful Cheshire countryside and only short drive away for us. Rachael is the perfect host and extremely lovely!
Highly recommended 5* retreat!
Thank you
Kindest Regards
Nicola, Darren, Maisie & Baby William

“A highly attractive, comfortable country retreat”
Reviewed February 8, 2014 for a stay in February 2014

I chanced upon the Old Parlour when looking for a last minute weekend treat in Cheshire. What a terrific, lucky find!
The Old Parlour proved to be a highly attractive, warm and comfortable country retreat on a cold, wet weekend. Our host, Rachael, provided a warm, friendly welcome and we were delighted to arrive to a roaring log fire, and an afternoon tea treat all laid out in the beautifully furnished lounge. We were shown around the property and given tips and suggestions for visiting local pubs and places of interest nearby. After choosing our dinner options and deciding what time we wanted to eat, we were left to settle in and to enjoy our afternoon tea.

While a storm raged outside, we were served a delicious 3-course dinner and then left to enjoy the rest of our stay enjoying the comfort of the Barn.

The next morning, the weather had cleared and we took the opportunity of going for a good long walk before enjoying a leisurely lunch at one of the nearby pubs.

I'd definitely recommend a stay here.

“Fantastic retreat”
Reviewed January 7, 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 2 nights from the 1st of January. The photos of it are spot on and you will not be disappointed.

A lot of time and effort has been put in to this. Lovely bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen with a dining area. The lounge is great with a log fire place.

If your after a romantic getaway this is the place.

“Absolutely lovely - dont hesistate”
Reviewed December 24, 2013 for a stay in December 2013

We stayed at the Old Parlour Barn for 3 nights just before Christmas and it was absolute bliss. Quiet, comfortable and Rachel couldn’t have been more helpful. The Barn is very tastefully decorated and has everything you need for a short stay. We had a really romantic time away from all the Christmas madness and the owners had put a Christmas tree up and decorated with fairy lights and even a poinsettia on the coffee table. If you want to just cut yourself off from the world and have a wonderful time this is the place. We did go to the local pub which looked like they did some tasty meals but we just wanted to be alone and snuggle up and this was the place to do it. Huge fluffy towels, bath robes, toiletries and some basic cooking ingredients (we also like to cook and this is often forgotten in holiday lets) like cooking oil, condiments etc and even a few candles were all provided. It was just heaven and we would be back tomorrow if we could.

“Peace and tranquility all wrapped up in a beautiful cottage”
Reviewed November 10, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

When Rachel opened the door to this beautiful cottage it took my breath away. It was perfect.
It is so apparent a great deal of thought, love and attention has been given to this cosy restoration and once the wood burning stove comes to life it take to you another level. In a hectic world this place is such a haven. Our hostess was so welcoming - continue as you are Rachel, don't change a thing ! She was there to help but at the same time kept her distance. Thank you for sharing the Old Parlour with us.

“Absolutely stunning!”
Reviewed October 1, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

One of the most perfect places we've ever stayed in. Rachael and her family couldn't be more friendly and helpful, we left out car lights on and went to the local pub and Rachael phoned to say her husband was in the pub and we could borrow his car to nip home and turn them off!

We stayed in the Old Parlour which is a beautiful barn conversion containing everything you need for a cozy/romantic weekend away. Full of touches that make you feel as though you're staying in your own (although better decorated and tidier) home!

Can't wait to go back. Rachael also recommeneded some gorgeous pubs so definitely listen to what she says!

Thank you for your lovely comments. Really glad you enjoyed The Old Parlour so much. You must come back and try The Garden Room next time and bring the bikes again as soooo many more beautiful cycle routes (and lovely pubs) to explore!
