This review is not about the product which is no doubt very good. We just never got a chance to try anything. When we discovered there was a patisserie near our B&B we decided to get some pastries for breakfast. My husband rode his bike to see if it was open (no opening hours posted online) and there was a sign giving the spring hours.
A little later we drove by, and were so pleased it was open (earlier than the spring hours suggested). My husband just mentioned in a friendly way that he had been unsure about the opening based on the sign on the door, whereupon we were treated to a most unpleasant lecture about how 'this is Salt Spring Island' where, basically, businesses can open and close at will depending on the whim of the owner.
At this point we felt attacked and left immediately. A huge shame. Incidentally, all other businesses we patronized on the island (including various artisans' studios) have clear opening and closing hours.
