Though we had been warned that Cornwall 'heaves' with tourists during the summer, we were caught somewhat off guard by the truly staggering number of people crowding every town and beach not requiring a stiff hike to reach. Thus, the serenity and quiet of Foxglove Cottage at the end of the day was inexpressibly wonderful! Nice views over fields dotted with cows, fresh milk each morning, cheese made on site, and attentive but unobtrusive hosts.
A 15-20 walk to the small town of Ponsanooth and it's pub and requiring the aid of GPS to find, the cottage is off the beaten path but close enough to Falmouth for dinner and south Cornwall sights to be a great base for a week of touring. A car is a must.
While I would return to this cottage in a heartbeat the same cannot be said for Cornwall at the height of summer. Unless you have a fondness for large carparks and massive queues - AVOID!
