“12 day holiday”
Reviewed September 30, 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Le Grenier what a find, will be going back again, ,if you like peace and quite , with plenty to see near by within easy reach by car this is the place for you. The property had all we needed, large bathroom with bath and excellent shower, very comfortable bed, sky TV ,
Wi Fi ,nice kitchen if you want to cook. wonderful area to sit out side. A clean comfortable place to have your holiday. nice welcome pack when we arrived eggs ,milk, bread, cheese, wine, tea coffee ,even fresh produce from the garden.
Pauline and Phil made us very welcome with cup of tea when we arrived, gave us some good information on the area, both very helpful.
If you like fishing good lake just outside Ger, I had nice 32Lb carp..
Would have no problem recommending Le Grenier to our friends. Thank you Pauline and Phil.

“Another great week”

Our second visit to Le Grenier, a lovely, well appointed place to call home for a week. Very tranquil and relaxing in the countryside of Le Manche region. Central to visit places such as the Normandy Landing beaches and Mont St Michel which are about an hour away. Local pretty places such as Domfront, Lonlay L'abbey, Bagnoles de L'Orne. Sourdeval and Mortain are nice market towns too. Mine hosts Pauline and Phil cater for every need. A perfect place to relax in the mid west of Normandy. Highly recommended.

“And.......... Relax!”

We have just returned from a remarkably relaxing week at Le Grenier and are compelled to write a similar review to many of the other satisfied guests of Philip and Pauline. They were excellent hosts right from the start allowing us to arrive extra early and being up to greet us after a special party the night before! The accommodation was ideal - spacious, comfortable and fully equipped; Pauline seems to have thought of everything and her Welcome Pack was much appreciated as were the many fresh eggs supplied throughout the week. It is beautifully rural with a good hour's walk to the nearest village ( where lunch was a slightly surreal experience! ) but has plenty of days out within a half hour drive. Evenings could then be spent with a glass or three of wine in the tranquility of the garden maybe with a barbecue and a chat with Philip - a man clearly enjoying immersing himself into the local way of life. We got a good feeling about the place from reading reviews such as this and the whole experience more than lived up to expectations.

I stayed here for 2 weeks, on my own, just to relax. It fitted the bill perfectly. It's an open plan loft which has been really well converted - all the switches etc in the right place!! Pauline & Phil who own it were fabuslous, and very helpful for advice on trips and local info for the supermarket, customs etc. - and providing the odd cup of tea. You need a car, though, but the roads round about are very good.

“A Perfect Place-Our Stay Was Too Short”

We are so glad we found Le Grenier. Wish we could have stayed longer. You couldn't find better hosts than Phil and Pauline. They have mastered the perfect blend of sharing their lives and respecting your privacy. What a welcoming reception with a basket of goodies including wine, bread, cheese, cookies, milk, butter and the best eggs from their hens. You don't get that in a hotel. The property has all you might need and is very peaceful in the Norman countryside. We loved a tour of the charming garden and a peek at the horse-drawn carriage that Pauline used to drive. The apartment is very clean and stocked with amenities. We had a rental car and were able to visit all sites we wanted in Normandy: D-Day sites, Bayeux, Mt. St. Michel, St Malo and delightful villages nearby. We had a GPS but Pauline gave very helpful directions including where to find a grocer. We would definitely recommend Le Grenier and would love to go back the next time we find ourselves in the region. Thank you Phil and Pauline for a lovely stay.

“Gorgeous place - perfect for a country getaway!”
Reviewed April 24, 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We spent a fantastic long weekend at Le Grenier, and would definitely recommend it to anyone. I was looking for a romantic weekend destination in rural France, and this property was exactly what I wanted. A cosy little flat in beautiful countryside.

Our hosts Phil and Pauline were the highlight however. Really genuine, welcoming people, who did everything to make our stay enjoyable. A flick through the visitors book showed that our good experiences mirrored those of many visitors before us.

We hope to return for a longer break!
