Purchase a Groupon voucher with two mains, two desserts and soft drinks each. We decided to try a new culture array of food of Nubia. I was abit hesitant because of the past reviews and It turn out to be a satisfying ok experience .

We had the lahama (grilled lamb) and the samak ( deep fried Nile perch fish) served with rice (could be warmer but ok, taste like basmati rice) and /or warm flat bread. We decided to get extra dipping sauces such as Nubia chilli ( it was hot) and Nubia mish to go with it because mains had no added sauce. Friend had the Nubia style spice tea which goes well with the desserts (Basta and Bala el sham). Friendly service by Khalid. If your a adventurous foodie, give it a go. Is a worth a try.

With the same group of friends we returned to the Nubia looking forward to another great meal. When we left we vowed never to return. Staff did not know the menu and did not understand the Groupon voucher we used. It even took months for it to clear off our account. The food was poorly cooked and we probably could have ordered the same food off the menu and saved money. A great pity as loved it the first time.

We visited on a weeknight with a Groupon voucher for two. We ordered Nubia grilled lamb and were recommended Nubia red curry by the waitress. The grilled lamb was diced and served with Kal's bread. The Nubia red curry should have come with diced lamb but instead we were served lamb pieces with bone. We felt the Nubia red curry was tasty while the grilled lamb was ordinary as it did not come with any dips and tasted dry. The desserts (Basta & Basbosa) were similar to Middle-Eastern desserts we have eaten previously. The highlight of the night for me was the Ethiopian coffee we ordered($7). The coffee is infused with ginger & cinnamon and went well with the sweet desserts. In sum, we experienced part Sudanese African (mains) & part Middle-Eastern (desserts) cooking in a restaurant adorned in African paraphernalia.

we chose the Chicken Stew served with rice and the Grilled Lamb with flat bread. The Chicken Stew was tasty and the grilled lamb coated in African spices was delicious. I must say the rice was very good too. The desserts were delicious and more middle eastern. Good value for money and will definitely be going back. There were two Sudanese men eating and my husband went to ask what it was and they got him to try it. So friendly. We got some to take away as i couldn't eat it all and i'm really looking forward to finishing it tonight.

Went with husband and friend on Friday night using a Groupon voucher. Cafe is small with simple decor. The food is simple but very tasty. There was live music for a short time which was pleasant. The lovely young cook was efficient and cheerful. She was also the wait staff so was quite busy.
