This was our 4th visit to Eriyadu and 7th to the Maldives. We love the layed back feel of the island, fantastic snorkeling and good food.A few changes since our last visit-a pool, 'new' bar deck and an offer of water sports. The gardens are beautifully kept and the staff friendly

Our 3rd visit to this beautiful Island and have already booked for next year again. Quite a few changes from the previous visit : they have started refurbishing some rooms to a very good standard and there is the addition of a nice "fun"pool next to the new tastefully furnished bar.
What has not changed though are the friendliness of the hard working staff. Too many to name but a very special mention to Abdulha and the little "egg" man in the restaurant and above all to Rasheed and Guido (very professional and passionate diving instructors - those two guys are a credit to the diving centre and contributed to make our holiday even better). As mentioned so many times in other reviews, the house reef is absolutely fantastic, both for divers and snorkelers. We do not want to wish our lives away but cannot wait to go back !

Worried by a few bad reviews on your site, we nevertheless booked for one week in February 2012 because of the publicised beautiful house reef - in other words you could stroll from your bed to the best snorkelling we had ever experienced. The rooms are large and a/c very good, with an open air wet room. Brilliant. The furniture is tired, but the bed was very comfortable. and who wants to go to The Maldives to look at the wardrobe? All the staff were amazingly friendly and fun. The buffet was immense, catering to all tastes (except pork of course). Three Nurse Sharks would cruise into the lagoon by the bar, and take a look around every evening. We saw a staggering amount of fish (and a white moray eel) of every colour and shape. The drop off of the reef shows coral in such colour that it beat the Barrier Reef all end up. we took the all-inclusive option which was worth it for the unlimited water and Tiger Lager ( and gin and Scweppes, wines etc.) One hour in a speed boat from Male. We are so glad we took the slight risk. Yes we will go again!

We stayed on Eriyadu for a week mid January. Before we went we read the reviews on Trip Advisor and we were slightly put off, particularly the comments about the standard of the rooms. Yes, the room we stayed in (161) was very tired looking but was kept spotlessly clean and the air con worked very well. We went all inclusive but now wonder if this was a good idea as no water sports are included, or the beach bar (why not?). As part of our A.I. package we were given a sunset fishing trip, which was great (saw dolphins near to the boat) and got to eat what we caught (bar-b-q'd on the beach for the people who were on the fishing trip).

We are experienced divers and despite others' comments we thought that the cost of the diving was reasonable (normal for resorts). The dive school were very professional and the dive sites were superb (mantas, sharks, rays, amazing corals, etc), probably due to the remoteness of the location. The house reef is just fantastic. They take great care to preserve what they have, and it shows. Although you could dive the house reef, we snorkelled all the way round the island over a day or two and have to admit that you didn't need to dive it to enjoy it (sad thing for a diver to say).

Watersports equipment was available but nobody seemed to be using it and it certainly wasn't being pushed. I think that this may be to help preserve the reef.

The staff were friendly and efficent and the food in the buffet was fabulous (we have stayed in a number of different good quality A.I. resorts around the world and this equalled all of them).

The power sockets are all good old UK type 3 pin plugs, so no need for adaptors. The WIFI worked well, if a little slow by UK standards.

Don't go here if you want nightlife (except for one night a week).

The transfer from the airport felt quite long (50 minutes on a fast speed boat) and was quite bumpy, even though the sea was quite calm.

Would we stay there again - Yes (but would probably upgrade the room to a beach bungalow).

Location is fantastic and the reef is excellent for snorkelling, you can swim along the entire perimeter seeing many fishs, small and big !

Beach is large and you can find what you need. Everywhere is clean, staff is gentle, ... But room furnitures need to be changed, really.
