We stayed with our 2 kids (12 and 4 y.o.) two weeks at the Liberty guest house and each one of us enjoyed it!
The staff is very kind and polite, attentive and friendly.
The location directly on a beach is ideal to enjoy the ocean with swimming, paddling, snorkeling etc. There were kayaks, boards and fins available for free.

The excursions left us with so many impressions and colorful memories and emotions, we were blown away : Furuty, Zala and the rest of the team gave us many advice and led us to have such wonderful experiences. We could swim with turtles, sharks, mantas and dolphins (we also had the luck to cross the path of a big pod of many dozens of them from the boat on our way to an excursion). If you like to snorkel (or dive of course) : don't hesitate and go there. The reefs in front of the hotel are already showing an incredible wild life. We saw a turtle there, an eagle ray and many many other beautiful species.
The restaurant is very good, and the menu offers a lot of possibilities for all tastes at reasonable prices.
We were offered to be able to have dinner on the beach with a beautiful light installation - beautiful!
The room was big enough for the four of us - although the mattresses were a bit too hard to our taste - and well equipped although simple.

As for the excursions that the Liberty is offering, we would recommend picnic island for a full day - beautiful place to snorkel in the lagoon and mostly over the outside reef, or to simply relax on the beach, manta/whale sharks point at Deghura (we could swim with many dolphins and a manta), night fishing with beach dinner (one of the team members caught a red sniper and a big barracuda), the night snorkeling was also very impressive and beautiful.

All these experiences and the way we were led to live them, the guesthouse itself, the great cooking... are balancing out the few negative points (the proximity of the garbage dump that is burning every day and sometimes sending bad plastic smoke on the beach - but this is part of the island's life..., the public beach in front and the absence of a limit, where you sometimes see your seat (with your stuff on it and shoes in front all of a sudden taken by someone), the many flies coming to eat your breakfast, and the sound of the crows to the sensitive ears.

It has all in all been unforgettable, we are back with a thousands colors in our heads, and enjoyed the pleasure to know a little bit more of the maldivian life than if we had stayed at a resort. Go to Liberty Guest House : you will have the time of your life!

We spent really great time in Liberty Guest House. Especially we appreciate stuff, they did excellent work :) room, view, food were also very good and we have nothing to complain about. Just one thing was not so perfect: the building is located near garbage dump where the rubbish was burned:(

It is one of our most memorable stay in mahibadhoo island. Staffs are very friendly and attentive. Foods are great. Thanks to Zala and Mustafa for looking after us. The most memorable day was when we met the family of Inaaz who welcomed us in their humble home, fixed us a sumptuous dinner and made us feel like a family. Staying in this island makes you experience the local culture and hospitality. All tourist should enjoy it and stay at liberty guesthouse to better make it more enjoyable. It takes 1h40mins to get here by speedboat from male jetty. There are lots of activities at reasonable rates the guesthouse can provide you. But if you want to fish..I suggest you bring your own gears or you might want to experience traditional handline fishing . We will surely be back.

Beginning April, we had another great vacation at the Liberty Guest House in Mahibadhoo. It felt good to see all the familiar faces, all the staff was there to make this stay another success. We were pleased to meet Mustapha, a new member of the administrative team. Accommodation was perfect, exactly what we expected, same as the food which is now being served at the ground floor restaurant, opening directly out onto the beach. Diving with Zala, Ameen and Fruity was a lot of fun, especially since we were lucky to join a group of enthusiastic lady divers always ready to have a good laugh. Moreover, weather conditions were just perfect: calm seas, no wind, good visibility and isolated dive sites, all it takes to enjoy the marine life at your ease.
The Liberty Guest House is a small place with 10 guest rooms, but an amazing place to meet people from across the world. During our stay we got to know people from Canada, Australia, Texas, India, France, Germany and Thailand, and especially all the Maldivians who made our vacation such a good experience.
Thanks to all the Liberty Guest House team.
