part of the beach dog friendly all year round (on leads from May to Oct). Huge expanse of sand and very very clean. Swansea Council must work really hard to keep this beautiful beach spotless

It is a beautiful beach! Clean, long and perfect for romantic or family walks. Welsh seaside is always stunning. It is something magical about Wales. So different compare to England, especially compare to hectic London. There is lovely Remo cafe with great coffee and delicious food. Aww I wish I could go for a long walk right now...

Probably the longest, cleanest, nicest, family and child friendly beaches in South Wales !
The local authority actually employ a beach cleaner with a tractor and mechanical sand cleaner to trawl the beach daily to remove debris from the sand of this stunning beach.
A perfectly flat, rock-free beach with a mile and a half of promenade with masses of parking - some free / some chargeable.
Masses of grassed areas above the beach for the kids to run around. Don't go without calling at Cafe Remo's for locally made ice cream, cakes and meals or Franco's fish n chips from the best chippy in the area while you watch the world go by, or stay to witness a stunning sunset

“Aberavon Beach”

On a glorious sunny day in Sept we visited the beach, not having been there for sometime...
The contrast betwen my previous visit and this one was immense!
I was amazed to find a pristine beach, beautiful clean sand, no debris or litter and loads of people on it. Apparently the council "comb" the beach every nite and "hoover" up any debris...
It looked fabulous!

There's the lifeguards as well, monitoring the beach conditions, ensuring safety, using 4x4s with body boards, quads and jet skis.

Along the seafront, there was a section called Aquasplash for children with a paddling pool, some nice eating areas, delicious ice-cream and there was even a chippy up the road!

The entire seafront had been transformed with some sculptures and various landscaping projects. Just across the road is the famous/infamous Sandfields estate (one of Europes largest). So the locals havent got far to go for trip to the beach!

The town centre seemed to have an "air of expectation and anticipation" in it, the Aberavon Centre has decidely gone upmarket............

The area into Port Talbot now has the road network it so badly needed and as we travelled along we found out it had only been opened the previous week!

This road and its various links the town centre, and now completes the towns ability to serve all types of industry and commerce! Its well laid out and gives easy acess to the beach, the town and the various industrial parts! It was a pleasant drive and you could see the steelworks upclose and personal (if your into that sort of thing.

So all in all, an excellent effort by the various authorities, planners and developers to put Port Talbot on the map!
Well done, Port Talbot, well done!

Thank Paul E
