We stayed for a couple of nights last weekend 26th-27th May,beautiful room/spotless/well designed, good full length mirror(important for the Ladies) lots of electric points.
Very pleasant & helpfull staff, comfortable dining room, good car parking, would certainly use this Hotel again.
The one & only gripe...... was the building itself, very unappealing, could do with an update..

Room Tip: far side is over the airconditioning if you retire early (a bit noisy)

We have just returned from a family break with 6 adults and 2 children which was truly relaxing with good food and rooms. The facilities, indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi where enjoyed by most of the family and the staff were all excellent and made our stay like home from home.

We had stayed in this hotel for 1 night some 3 years previously and felt the same relaxing atmosphere then which prompted us to return with the family.

As previously said it would certainly be a hotel you would drive past without a thought of stopping from the outside. The minute you are in reception the staff were friendly and helpful, including Sam our very helpful and friendly Barman. Our room which was for 2 adults and 2 kids (16 and 14yrs) plus the dog was lovely and recently refurbished, with absolutely no trace of it being a designated room for people with dogs. The pool was a very warm 30 degrees and although in need of some updating entertained our children for hours. The beautiful sandy beach was directly opposite the hotel and the Afan and Margam Country parks with walking and mountain bike trails were within 10 miles. The only negative we could find was that the bar food was less than average on both nights we ate in and was not value for money. We didn't try the restaurant as it was expensive and assuming a similar standard decided to save our money, and went for a very memorable meal at an excellent price to La Memo in Port Talbot. Overall would definitely return and recommend this establishment.

First time at this hotel , although we have seen it from outside many times and it does look like an institution..... BUT inside it really is very nice. The public areas are clean and neat, the bar is atmospheric and the service is personal and cheerful.
Breakfast is superb , a la carte choice , as well as " starter " table . The food is very high quality and service again is pure south welsh , Gavin and Stacey , friendly.
The room had issues, no air con ( although as we had a sea view - open the window and Gods air con takes over!) no fridge and no safe , but the telly is fine ( freeview choice ) and room very clean and spacious. Also the location is handy for beach, chippy, cinema and 2 shops.
Our room was on 1st floor over bar , there was no function while we were there so no noise but i would recommend asking for a higher floor just in case function is on.
All in all we visit Port Talbot often to visit family and have stayed in various other hotels but this was the first time that our family " committment" also felt like a holiday and that was down to the hotel.

Room Tip: If asking for sea view , also ask for high room so you are not directly over bar/function room.

Stayed here for one night with partner, very helpful and friendly check in staff. Perhaps not the best location for immediate things to do, but if going there with a car attractions are easy enough/close enough to find.
Nice beach view as shown in the pictures, and in good condition overall.

Hotel doesnt' look too good from the outside but the interior is fine, what you would expect from a Best Western - not 5 start glamour but clean and good sized rooms. Food was quite nice too - again not top quality but you are getting good value and exactly what you pay for.

It's just the location that's lacking. The view is dominated by a huge steel works pumping clouds of smoke into the sky and a large rather depressing looking council estate to the back of the hotel. The town centre is run-down and there's a lot of motoroways surrounding the area.

It was also one of the most surreal evening meals I have experienced in a hotel - there were a couple of people who seemed like me to be on business trips, then lots of groups of older people on holidays and several large groups of men with Russian, Eastern European sounding and American accents - obviously all there to work in the port/steel works. At one point 2 men came in with clip boards and began to shout out the rota for the following day! Tha'ts definitely a first!!

I was there for business - I wouldn't go back for leisure.

Greeted by a really warm Welsh welcome. Reception staff were really good Our rooms were spotless, clean and comfortable.
The food though was a different story. Super tough lamb and Beef were served both nights. It was a cold week but at 10 15pm why was all the warm air removed by putting on extractors ?? No one seemed to be able to find out (or so we were told) the ballroom went so cold within a few minutes. That said I would highly recommend a stay here. Lovely place and certainly very lovely staff.
