Description: DINING The Garden Remember when a beer garden was a great place to relax and unwind and enjoy the beautiful Queensland climate? Well you can still treat yourself to that experience at The Beerwah Hotel. Have a drink, grab a bite to eat or enjoy a range of cocktails, milkshakes, even cake and coffee. It’s also right next to our Kids Play Area – so the kids can enjoy themselves in safety. Bistro Bar The Bistro Bar is great place to unwind. In a relaxed environment where you can come to enjoy fine food, or a relaxing drink. The Beerwah Hotel is renowned for its bistro's great food… mouth-watering Nolan’s steaks, the freshest of seafood; it’s all here to choose from all at reasonable prices.

We decided to take our relatives, down from Townsville, to the Beerwah Hotel. We arrived at our reserved time, decided on our order, and after a ten minute wait in line, placed our order at the counter. we were told that there would be a 45 - 60 minute wait. This was the start of a very unrewarding experience. 70 minutes later, after further enquiry as to the progress of our order, three of the four meals arrived. They had obviously sat on the counter as the rice was cold, as was the fish and chips, and the potatoes wedges in salmon dish were not crispy. The plate on which the salmon was served felt greasy and looked dirty. The fourth arrived 5 minutes after that and appeared to be freshly cooked and plated. Yes it was a Saturday evening - 6:30 arrival and food not out until 8:00pm. Has the Hotel, through its expansion, over extended itself? There were obviously not enough staff in the kitchen to produce quality food.
As for service - that's another story. Had no one ever taught their staff that they should not clear plates until all members of the party had finished? And that you don't lean across other patrons to remove plates especially when they are still eating.

“Nice food”
Reviewed July 26, 2014

Nice food and friendly serving staff, unfortunately they are a very local pub for local people, if you have a British accent you will be targeted with snide comments and probably asked to leave by the bouncers for some lame excuse, when you ask to see the manager please do not follow the bouncer to an area where there is no camera under the pretence that you'll actually get to speak to someone, you will be met with a large red headed bouncer who will proceed to headbutt you in the face and the punch you senseless all with a look of great pleasure and achievement. The food is great but please leave once you've finished.

“Coconut prawns WOW”
Reviewed July 2, 2014

Had our June Ladies Lunch here (25 of us) just about everyone had the prawns, but the risotto, fish & chicken curry were just as good by all accounts. The profiteroles were to die for ! The service was excellant & the atmosphere was warm & friendly just as a great country pub should be.

“Surf and Turf”
Reviewed May 26, 2014

A classic pub with a lovely, cosy atmosphere. My partner got the QLD snapper special which was delicious. Fish was so fresh. The steak was okay, but I really just enjoyed the mashed potato (best ever!) and crème brulee. Thanks for showing the AFL too :)
