My husband, sister-in-law and I visited Australia Zoo recently. We enjoyed seeing the animals and birds and were impressed with the care and attention of the animals and birds. However we were extremely irritated with the constant and intrusive music. When arriving at the African section we heard awful music but no information regarding the species of animal, where their habitat was located, what they ate and whether the animal was endangered. The show was also very disappointing, too much inappropriate razzmatazz, music and way too little display of animals and birds. This is why we came to Australia Zoo. Overall we were underwhelmed and somewhat annoyed at the high cost of entry.

We’ve been to many Zoos or animal parks but none beat this in terms of environmental enrichment and care for the animals as this one. The keepers talk about the animals in their care like a parent would of a child, the animals have lots of access to being off display and are even rotated. Some animals are in retirement and living out their old age off display. This is a lovely placed and very interactive, with keepers walking around with animals to pat or ask questions about. At nearly every enclosure there was a keeper watching over and ready to answer any questions. The keeper talks and shows were also great!! Very impressed!!

Get there early and make a full day of it. So many animals to interact with all set in amazing grounds staffed by friendliest of personnel and volunteers. Wanting to conserve energy? Hope on the shuttle service around the park. So many photo opportunities, especially if you buy a bag of kangaroo food for $3 as you’ll have the wallabies and kangaroos eating from your hand and able to be patted. Lots of water stations including bottle refills and the cafe area caters for all dietary requirements and for large numbers of customers. Beautiful memories of Steve Irwin and fantastic conservation efforts all on display. Free wifi within the park grounds which are very well executed. So many happy faces wherever you looked. You may even discover an animal you’ve never heard of like the Binturong or catch a glimpse of the Irwins like we did.

With lots to see and do it’s really worth seeing.
We took out daughter for the first time and she loved it.

Lots of opportunities to interact with the animals.
The new meerkat exhibit is amazing.

The food at the crocoseum was outstanding. One of the best burgers I’ve had. They have quite a food selection too.

I love everything about this zoo. It’s always clean, the animal enclosures are so well kept and the animals have plenty of space.

Literally NO zoo compares to Australia Zoo it's possible I'm biased but I've been to quite a few around the world and they just don't hold up. SO many animals in such natural habitats, there are heaps of shows everyday. The Crocoseum is unparalleled and they always put on an amazing and educational show, make sure you're there at 12PM to get a good seat. There's a shuttle bus that goes around the zoo as well with a guide pointing out various enclosures.
