Porquerolles Island is one of our favorite sailing spots.
It is a part of a national park, hence well protected and full of marine life.
White beaches and crystal clear waters are one of the distinguishing points.
What was really missing was good food, which is quite unusual in France.
We have visited the island four times in the last 20 years and the only complain was the unimpressive quality of the food.
This time we have used TA to double check any new place and found Le Pelagos restaurant, showing good marks.
We knew the place with another name from our last visit and decided to try it under the new look.
Warm reception, good food (simple menu based on grilled fish/meat on a plancha) which you can create by yourself by combining any of the 6-8 available options plus side garnishings.
We had calamari, daurade filet, filet of beef and some spiced meatballs with baked potatoes.
Fish got our preference, meatballs were second, while beef filet was a bit too dry.
We also had very tasty deserts, Fig pye and Rhum Baba.
A bottle of local rose wine to complete the picture.
Reasonably priced (for the location on the main square) it had only one negative point, tables are too low and the fancy chairs are nicely designed, but not too comfortable for tall guys like we are.
Apart from that it is a place we shall visit again.
