This unusual compilation of metal rods and blue glass draw the visitor for a closer look. It was dedicated in 2006 by a :master glass" artist, Simone Cenedese. The purpose was to build the world's tallest glass Christmas tree for the "Natale di Vetro" (Christmas celebration of glass).

The whole title is "Natale di luce in una cometa di vetro" (meaning Christmas of light in a glass comet). Today, it is Murano's symbol of Christmas. It is shortened to "glass comet."

Very beautiful Murano glass sculpture. One of the things you will remember you have seen forever. Don't miss to take a photo in front of it.

Right in the middle of Murono, at campo San Stefano, is this wicked piece of art in glass.
Is at at odds with its surroundings? Modern art usually is and this piece is no different. Thus it commands the attention it deserves.
One of the downfalls of Murano glass making was the lack of looking forward, being bold and adventurous. Making traditional pieces only got them so far.
This piece shows that Murono has moved forward and can produce masterful modern art.
Orther beautiful examples can be viewed in the museum of glass.

Very impressive glass sculpture in the Glass Island. One of the eye catcher in Murano. Walking around Murano we will find lot of shops where we can find very nice glass art like this which if you afford can buy.
