“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

We came for a child free romantic break away. The hotel definitely met and exceeded our expectations. We were met at the airport by the hotel's boat driver who took us directly to the hotel, this really added to the experience.
Check in was quick and the staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English.
The island of Murano is very quaint. There are lots of glass shops and a few nice places to eat. The only downside was the whole place seemed to shut down in the evening, we couldn't find anywhere for dinner at 8.30 so we ate at the hotel. The hotel restaurant menu was fairly limited and quite expensive but the food was good. The staff in the restaurant really try their hardest.
Our room was a standard double, it was spotlessly clean, very comfy beds, great bathroom with a bath and shower and Sky TV (although we didn't find any English channels).
The transfer to Venice was at 10am and returned at 6.30pm, I believe the times vary though. It took approx 20-30 mins to get to St Marks square.
The carnival was a fantastic experience, we didn't know much about it beforehand but we were really pleased we experienced it.
We would definitely recommend to other people and hope to return ourselves someday!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel avoid a few of a construction site

Stayed in October 2013. The accommodation rate is higher, but hotel have free boat taxi to/from the airport and to/from Venice main island. The building is former glass factory and the exterior amazing. Rooms are smaller, but very modern and comfortable. As the hotel is opened since May 2013 there are still some things to improve such as WiFi connection and TV signal. Breakfast was fine, italian and international products, hot and cold buffet. The only thing is that it was served on the terrace. There were heaters, but not very warm. Murano island is overall lovely place with very mice and cosy atmosphere. At the end it was quite good hotel, I do recommend and believe the staff and management will do their best to improve the service.

What a great place to stay. Helpful staff, nothing too much trouble, free shuttle to and from the airport and daily shuttle to St.Mark's square. The murano glass decorations and lighting are very tasteful along with the bedrooms and 2nd floor corridor. Claudio the bartender is fantastic, his attention to detail was a joy to watch, please still be there the next time we visit?!!!!!

We saw a discounted deal for the hotel and, knowing Venice quite well - this was our fifth visit - we decided to look book this. We had been to Murano before, knew that it was quiet and only a short boat ride from the main part of Venice.

We were not disappointed. The hotel is new; the rooms are spacious - especially by Venetian standards; it is very quiet - both the locality as well as inside the hotel.

The breakfasts were excellent, a large range of different things to keep almost everyone happy. Most items for breakfast were international cuisine but many as well with a more local flavour - excellent. We also tried the restaurant for an evening meal, again very good and the wine was superb. Portions were very generous as well.

All in all it was very nice place to stay and we would go there again. The only downside for us was that we didn't feel able to go back from Venice to the hotel in the late afternoon before going back into Venice in the evening for the opera. It would have been nice to go back and get changed - but the time it takes to get across Venice and back to the hotel, and then back again, makes such a trip too cumbersome. However for general trips, including evening meals etc in Venice we would use La Gare again without a second thought.

Punctual shuttle service from airport ran smoothly. Friendly and helpful welcome on arrival from the English speaking reception staff. Beautiful stylish spacious throughout including bedrooms and bathrooms. Excellent breakfast, we only had one meal in the hotel restaurant due to limited menu but the food and service was superb. It's a bonus that the hotel runs an excellent free shuttle service to Venice even thought the Museo vaporetto stop is conveniently situated immediately outside the front door of the hotel. All staff are friendly, efficient, polite and helpful.
Just one big negative. The superior rooms do not have tea/coffee making facilities. The only option is room service which is €3 per cup plus €5 pp service charge. We asked 3 different members of staff on reception if it would be possible to have a kettle and cups in the room, a simple request........we were politely refused. This is not good enough for a hotel of this calibre.

Room Tip: Room 130 overlooking a building site but we didn't experience any noise.

We stayed here for 3 nights from 6th Feb - 9th Feb. The hotel is fantastic, all mod cons yet brilliantly decorated. The staff are excellent, very customer focused and Claudio the barman is superb. You can tell he loves his job, excellent cocktail making and brilliant at recommending local drinks and his overall knowledge is superb.

The free water taxi the hotel offer to and from the airport and to Venice St Marks is also a fantastic service they offer, which only added to the holiday.

If you decide to use the water buses then there is stop right outside the hotel, called Museo, which takes you into Venice itself. I recommend gettting off at FT. De Nove stop and walking to St Marks.

If you decide to get the water bus to the airport, you need to go to the stop called Colonna which is at the bottom of the island. The maps are a little misleading and you need the 3rd bus stop, if you walk inside you will see the map and info for the Linea Blu.

Murano itself is an amazing place, like a mini Venice but much quieter. I would highly recommend taking time out and walking round this island as well as Venice.

I hope we will come back one day.

This hotel has to be one of the best I've stayed in for a long time, from the moment you step in you notice the Murano chandelier, glass lights and ornaments. It's understated, neutral elegance is simply perfect!

We stayed 3 nights arriving at lunch time. We had requested the private hotel water taxi 24 hours earlier, which you catch at the pier 15 minutes from the airport departure. The taxi was great and so much part of the start of the stay and is about 20 minute transfer. It has it's own pier which is to the left of the bus stop which is actually outside the hotel!

Rooms are not available until 2pm, however the hotel will completed all the paperwork and then checked your bags into their secure room.

The rooms are spacious with a large and very comfortable bed, mini bar in the cupboard and safe and good wardrobe space available plus plenty of room for 2 cabin bags underneath. The bathroom is huge! One of the best showers in a hotel, it's big, you don't hit the sides and there are 2 shower heads (one overhead and a mobile one).

The rooms have a large flat screen TV with sky italia available. The rooms are simply but elegantly decorated. There is an adjustable thermostat available too! There are 2 bottles of water (gas / naturale) in the room but no tea / coffee making facilities - but that didn't bother us.

Breakfast is from 7 - 10.30 am and is buffet style. The efficient but friendly staff seat you when you can help yourself. Food is superb, there are croissants in the centre, cereals, meats, bacon, eggs, fruit etc. We stayed half-board and the evening meals (served from 7.30 - 10.30 pm) were fantastic. The menu wasn't your run of the mill, it was the same each night, with the exception of the specials. The best meal was the fresh sea bass which is cooked whole and then filleted at your table by the waiter. The service leaves many hotels standing.

The bar area is fantastic, comfy sofas and plump cushions makes it a very relaxing area. There are books available to read. We ordered coffee and a drink in the bar, it came with mini cakes and a cream mouse which was a surprise and lovely. The barman also deserves a mention as he was skilled mixing the cocktails and completely dedicated to his job. As with all staff, nothing was any trouble they were so professional yet friendly, helpful and all went out of their way to help you.

There is a convenient bus stop right outside the hotel, bus 4.2 (purple) is a 50 minute trip to St Marks square and departs every 23 minutes. You return on the 4.1 (purple) which again is 50 minutes. You must get a ticket before getting on, this is available the tabacco shop past the pier where the hotel taxi dropped you off. You must also validate you ticket before getting onto the platform. The ticket inspector was in force in February and we had to show our tickets on 3 separate occasions. However, the hotel will also take you directly to St Marks square but you need to request this early - it was full when we tried!

Check-out is 12pm and the hotel will store your luggage until departure. You need to request the hotel taxi 24 hours in advance. We booked ours for 4pm as our flight was 19:20 and the queue for security checks at the airport meant we only had just over an hour before boarding.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again if visiting.
