I was a part of a group of 4 who visited the restaurant last week. The restaurant was moderately occupied; however, it took considerable time for any of the servers to attend to our table. Once a server did come to our table, we informed him that we needed 3 menus in English, with one of them being a children's menu. Though he quickly brought us menus, it was then considerable time until we saw him again. I cannot attribute this to the slower pace of European dining, as other tables near us were receiving more attentive service. In short, we were being ignored.
Though some in our party were aggravated, we were assured by one who was Norwegian that the food was quite good and that we should give them a chance to make things right. Things were looking better when our order was taken, as drinks and an appetizer soon followed. However, we then waited roughly 45 minutes for our entrees. At no time were we visited by our server. When we noticed that other tables that had been seated after us received appetizers and were receiving their entrees, we tracked down a server to ask how much longer it would be. He checked with the kitchen and informed us that it would be another 30 minutes! We told him that we could wait no longer. It was clear that our order had been lost, as we had ordered entrees that would not take longer than 15-20 minutes to prepare, given that other tables had clearly ordered similar items and received their meals in that time frame.
There was no apology from any of the service personnel or kitchen for the oversight.
Fortunately, we found another restaurant that greeted us warmly and served us quickly and attentively.
I would add that I posted a message to Jensen’s on their Facebook page about our experience and have received no reply from them. Poor service all the way around.
I for one will not be among those who enter their doors again. I hope others are spared from the same situation.
