I had read all the reviews for Goldstone and was expecting great things when we attended a wedding this weekend. It certainly lived up to everything and more - well done, it was fantastic!
The place is divine, every little thing is covered, it is certainly the best wedding venue I have ever visited.

Room Tip: Room 14 with the four poster is wonderful!

I have been here several times and food and service is always excellent. We had our daughter's wedding here on 5 May 2013 and again the hotel excelled. All guests were extremely well looked after and the rooms are all individual and luxurious - probably not entirely what you might expect from a small family run business like this one. The staff always go the extra mile and the attention to detail and to making it a fantastic experience - is superb.
It's not really somewhere for children to be entertained - although I'm sure they'd be made welcome - it's a very relaxing place for adults to enjoy - in my view!

Room Tip: There is one very good ground floor room with easy access to garden and hotel - useful if stairs ar...

From the moment we walked in the door of Goldstone Hall, to the moment we left the next day, we felt relaxed and at home. Away from home on a business trip it was great to escape those stresses at the end of the day with a relaxing walk around the stunning gardens and a drink from the bar. The room was lovely with an extremely comfortable bed and first class shower and separate bath! We were made to feel welcome from the start and we will be going back on our next visit to the area.

We were invited to join some friends for dinner at this hotel and as it was bank holiday weekend we decided to stay overnight so both of us could enjoy a drink.
We followed the hotel's directions to find this wonderful hotel and as soon as walked in we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who promptly checked us in and took us to our room. I thought we would never find our way back as we went upstairs, along corridors and back downstairs again before arriving at our room. We had booked a standard room but I subsequently found out we had been upgraded.
The room had fabulous views of the vegetable garden, gardens and wedding venue. The facilities were fabulous, dressing gown and slippers, lovely toiletries, huge fluffy towels, great shower, very comfortable four poster bed. There was even a jug of fresh milk in the fridge for our tea. A cafetiere was a nice surprise as was the delicious drinking chocolate and homemade cookies.
We had a wonderful dinner in the evening, when ordering pre-dinner drinks we were offered canapés, while we chose from the menu. All the produce is either homegrown or locally sourced. Our dinner was delicious, the service was attentive but discrete and the meal ended with beautiful petit fours.
Breakfast was amazing, various fresh fruits, cereals, freshly squeezed orange juice, homemade jams and homemade bread for toast. Tea and coffee were in plentiful supply while you browse the breakfast menu and whatever you chose is freshly cooked. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and I felt quite sad as we checked out. This is an amazing place and I can understand why so many people choose it for their wedding.

I stayed for one night as my sister's wedding reception was held here. The room was a little small, but tastefully decorated and well-appointed. The cafetiere and ground coffee sachets were especially welcome the morning after! Home-made cookies were also delicious. Slippers and bathrobes are always lovely and the towels were super soft and fluffy. We had a standard room and what it lacked in space, it made up for in the wonderful view of the property's impressive gardens. The breakfast was extensive and delicious, using locally-sourced ingredients (although it lacked baked beans). My only complaint would be that the room key was attached to an enormous wooden key ring that was too large to fit in a pocket or clutch bag, so we were constantly mis-laying it!

I've just begun a 9 month mentoring programme at Goldstone. Today was just perfect. My group of women all felt superbly nurtured within this informal, comfortable family setting. Food, meeting room, staff were all excellent. We are so looking forward to our remaining monthly dates. Highly recommended for business meetings with a difference.

Room Tip: This was a daytime business event so other questions irrelevant.

Attended family wedding, and all I can say it - what a wonderful "show" was put on. Nothing was too much trouble, and the attention to detail was staggering!! No wonder guests were "stunned" and enjoyed everything : setting, food, service. Was everything the bride and groom could have wished for. Our room was lovely too and a delicious breakfast was served the following day.
