Great pub and food. Decent ales too. Service for food great. Bar service appalling. Staff serve their regulars before others. Que at bar and the staff ignore you choosing to serve regulars first. Big let down. Manager needs to speak with staff.

Arrived at 2pm just before the kitchens closed but they were very obliging and accepted our order. Their burger was massive, as was the gammon steak. Served with individual salad bowls and a big shared bowl of chips. All beautifully cooked, tasty food and generous servings. A very lucky detour for us.

Great canal side pub but not the most attractive building however don't let that stop you calling in. Very welcoming and good service we enjoyed a warm (open fire) meal in the bar area with a long cool Peroni. No starter so straight into a lightly battered scampi and a hand made burger which was huge. Good meat. Well dressed salad to accompany this and really did not need any more even if the pud menu did have some very attractive choices.
Great for lunch on a summers day we would imagine.

This family run country pub has a superb rural canalside setting and offers fantastic home cooked food. The steaks are the best ever and you will not be disappointed. It is not the cheapest, no 2 for ones or other dodgy discounts you find in microwave pub chains, the price reflects the quality and quantity.
The is usually at least three real ales available alongsides the more regular choices.
