We received a wedding gift for a 5 course diner at the Wakefield Mill. So my husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary there last April.
Note that my review is for the restaurant only because we did not stay the night at the Inn, although some friends of ours stay there regularly and love it, especially the wonderful brunch. I have visited some of the rooms and they are quite charming. Plus the price is right for this type of good quality Inn.

I have to point out the romantic setting. The restaurant has large glass windows in one of the rooms so you can see the small water rapids, being in an old converted mill. You could sit outside on the terrace but the noise of the water is quite loud. Do bring your camera.

They have a good variety of delicious foods including wonderful fine cheeses. And lets talk about the exceptional staff. You will be very well taken care of and if you don't know much about wine they will gladly share their expertise. You will be spoiled during your taste fest and the chef will surprise you with a few extra treats.

We will visit this place again for sure. Probably on our next anniversary. Enjoy!

Was it because we had a gift certificate that we were not treated the same way as others? Shouldn't this be seen as an opportunity to sell your product and entice us back? This was a birthday gift from friends. It's one of their favorite places and they wanted to share the experience.
The selection at the buffet was fabulous and wonderfully prepared. The scenery was wonderful and the atmosphere and setting divine. However, for some reason people who came in later than us were served their coffee much sooner and we had to wait an enormous amount of time to get our bill. We felt completely neglected while others around us were served, tables were bussed and we just sat and sat. We eventually just gave up waiting and went to the cash to pay and then were met with some lame excuse. This could have been wonderful but we were left with a bad taste in our mouth.

Beautiful view, terrace overlooking the falls. Friendly service . Food terribly overpriced and totally lacking imagination. Need I say more?

We live 30 minutes away from this place and decided to try the spa. Spa services were good, on time, good RMT.

We arrived 30 minutes early so thought we'd have a drink before our massages. That didn't happen because the service was ridiculously slow. At 2:30 pm, no less.

After our massages we thought we would have a snack and a drink before heading home. First, it took a while for staff to acknowledge us and when a server finally Made his way to our table he asked if we were were having drinks or food. Both, we said (in English). He returned with French menus. we asked for English menus - what a concept that people actually speak english in Canada.

Once we decided on snacks, we closed our menus and waited. And waited some more. There were virtually no customers, but lots of staff milling about slowly. While we still waited.

After a good 15 minutes the server returned. We has a question: could we get two tapa instead of three? They come in servings of 3 or 5, both of which were too much for us.

Sorry, the server said, you can get 3 or 5. No flexibility, we asked? No. The computer is programmed for 3 or 5. Really? You can't be flexible at all? Sorry, no.

We didn't stay. Probably a good thing or we might have missed our 10 o'clock movie.

If the quality of the food matched that of the service, we can safely say that it was terrible. Maybe Le Moulin forgot that they are in the SERVICE industry. It is also a safe assumption that we won't be going there again.

We phoned this quaint Inn in Wakefield to inquire if they were having a traditional Thanksgiving meal on the weekend of Thanksgiving. They said "yes...we'll have turkey, stuffing, etc.". The price was $30 per person. We made reservations and arrived exactly on time. First of all, the wait staff were incredibly slow. We ordered tea and coffee immediately upon sitting down. We had to remind our waiter (Michel) twice, and another younger waiter a third time before any beverages were brought to the table.

As for the $30 meal; it was a major let-down. It was almost entirely a breakfast buffet; eggs, sausage, french toast, etc. There was turkey and stuffing, but no other traditional items; no green vegetables, carrots, etc. For $30, it was a 'let-down' for sure! There wasn't even any pumpkin pie!

I looked forward to no shopping; no cooking and no cleanup, but after spending nearly $70 for two lousy meals, I felt really ripped off. I won't be going back to Le Moulin Wakefield for any meals. Their service is poor, and the price-point is way out of line!
