I thought the best thing about the hotel was the people working there. The front staff, the restaurant staff were all very friendly fun young people. The hotel is quite small, but very nicely done out. We stayed in room 121, which is one of the first floor suites with a pool attached. The room was large and the pool area was a great addition. The only thing about the first floor is that there is virtually no view of the ocean from the room. Might have been better to get one of the upper floor suites instead. One problem with our room was that there were no drawers in the rather large walk in closet. We asked for an extra ten hangers, but i wonder why no place to unpack. Also i would have loved to have had a table and chairs outside to sit in the garden. We ate all four nights at the restaurant and the food was good, but kind of expensive. One fun thing was the freely flowing Champaign from 530 to 630 pm each day....there is no beach access at the hotel even though there are some small beaches nearby. Its a ten minute walk down the road to toguchihama beach which might be one of the nicest beaches I have ever been to. At the beach the blue turtle cafe and bar is a great place for lunch and has some outdoor showers to wash off the sea if you like. We had some Miyakojima beef for lunch. 5,000 yen for one of the great steaks you will ever get a chance to eat. Better than the 15,000 you will pay at iraph sui for their steak....overall I would say the irpah sui is a very comfortable and fun place to base your exploration of Miyako and irabu.....

This is a newly opened Luxury Collection hotel. From the moment I arrived (unfortunately too late for the unset) I felt pampered, with welcome champagne in the lobby while enjoying a view of lit up infinity pool.

The room was beautifully appointed and comfortable (wonderful bed and pillows!). One feature that particularly impressed me was the curtains, which had graduated color (blue, like the sea, on the bottom fading to white on top, with the line exactly matching the horizon when one stands in the entrance to the room). Very nice touch!
While I couldn't quite see the sunrise from my balcony (the hotel is more west-facing), I could enjoy watching the clouds change color as the sun came up.

The pool and grounds were very nice to stroll around, both the night I arrived and in the morning (between rain showers).

The staff were friendly and helpful.
